EDD disqualified me after approving training program while in school - help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with EDD. I applied for their training program while I'm in school, and initially they said everything looked good. But now I've got disqualifications on my account! Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm confused because my classes don't interfere with my work availability. Any advice on how to handle this or what I should do next?

Ugh, classic EDD move. They love to give you hope and then crush it 🙄 Have you tried calling them? Sometimes talking to a real person can clear things up.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have a better chance of getting through.

I went through something similar last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a record of all your communications with EDD. 2. Write a detailed letter explaining your situation. Emphasize that your classes don't interfere with work availability. 3. Include your class schedule and any other relevant documents. 4. Send it via certified mail so you have proof they received it. 5. Follow up regularly. It took a few weeks, but they eventually reversed the disqualification. Don't give up!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: if you can get a letter from your school confirming your class schedule, that can help too.

have you tried contacting your local assemblymember or state senator? sometimes they can help cut through the red tape with EDD

Hey, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Have you checked if your school has any resources to help with this? Some colleges have staff who can assist with EDD issues.
