EDD account number not working - system won't accept it. Help!
So I've been trying to use my EDD account number for days now and it's not working. I double-checked it multiple times but the system just won't accept it. Anyone else having this problem? It's driving me crazy! I've been on hold for hours trying to get through to someone. Any advice on what to do? I'm worried about missing out on my benefits because of this stupid technical issue.

•EDD needs to turn their whole system off and on again tbh

Maybe try sacrificing a goat to the EDD gods? Couldn't hurt at this point 🐐

•Instructions unclear. Goat ate my EDD paperwork. Now what?

•Congrats, you've now completed the sacred EDD ritual. Expect your benefits in 6-8 business years.

I heard they're updating the system soon. Maybe wait a few days and try again?

•They've been "updating the system" since 1995 🙄

Have you tried calling right when they open? I've heard that's the best time to get through.

•Tried that. Still waited 2 hours. This system is broken af 🤮

•Early morning calls are hit or miss. I've had better luck calling around 3pm.

Have you tried contacting your local assembly member? Sometimes they can help push things through.

•That's an interesting approach. Has anyone had success doing this?

I had the same issue last month! It turned out there was a typo in my account number on their end. You might need to actually talk to someone to get it fixed. Good luck getting through tho 🙄

I swear EDD is run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels. How hard is it to make a working website?!

I feel your pain, OP. The EDD system is a total nightmare. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird glitches.

•Great tip! Sometimes the simplest solutions can make all the difference. Have you had similar issues, or does this usually solve it for you?

•I tried that once and it worked like a charm. It's amazing how these small tech maintenance steps can solve bigger issues.

I've been dealing with EDD issues for 6 months now. It's like a full-time job just trying to get your benefits.

•6 months? You're still a rookie. Try 18 months of this bs 😤

I wanted to add my experience with Claimyr. While it did cost me $20, I was able to finally reach someone at EDD and resolve my issue. The frustration saved was worth it for me. However, I understand it's not an option for everyone due to the cost. I think Claimyr can be a useful tool in certain situations, but it's always important to weigh the cost-benefit and explore other avenues too, like calling at different times or trying to reach local representatives. It's about finding the approach that works best for your situation.

I found a way to get someone on the phone fast. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

•I hear you. Spending money to fix a system problem feels wrong, but sometimes a bit of investment can save a lot of time and stress.

Plot twist: the account number was right all along, and we're living in a simulation run by the EDD 🤯

Here's what you need to do to fix your account number issue: 1. Double-check your account number: Make sure you're entering it exactly as it appears on your EDD documents. 2. Try different browsers: Sometimes the EDD website acts up on certain browsers. Try Chrome, Firefox, or even your phone's browser. 3. Clear your cache and cookies: This can help if there's a weird glitch happening. 4. Use incognito/private mode: This can bypass some issues caused by browser extensions or saved data. 5. Check for system maintenance: EDD often does updates that can cause temporary issues. Check their Twitter for announcements. 6. Call EDD directly: If all else fails, you'll need to speak with a rep. Try calling right when they open or use a service like Claimyr to get through faster. 7. Document everything: Keep a record of all your attempts and any error messages you see. This can help when you finally talk to someone. Remember, persistence is key with EDD. Don't give up!

•These steps are super helpful. It's sad how meticulous we have to be just to get our benefits though.

Ugh, classic EDD. Their website is always buggy. Try using a different browser or even your phone. Sometimes that works for me.

Hey Diego, I feel your pain! I went through this exact same thing last month. What worked for me was actually logging out completely, clearing my browser cache, and then trying again with a different browser. Also, make sure you're not including any spaces or dashes in the account number - sometimes the system is picky about formatting. If that doesn't work, try accessing the site from your phone instead of computer. The mobile version sometimes behaves differently. Don't give up - I know how stressful this is when you need those benefits!

•This is really helpful advice! I'm going to try the different browser approach first since that seems like the easiest fix. It's crazy how these technical glitches can cause so much stress when you're already dealing with unemployment. Thanks for sharing what worked for you - gives me hope that there's a solution!

I'm dealing with the exact same issue right now! Been trying for three days straight and getting nowhere. The most frustrating part is that I KNOW my account number is correct because I've triple-checked it against my paperwork. Has anyone found out if this is a widespread system glitch or if it's something on our end? I'm starting to wonder if they're having server issues but just not announcing it. Really hoping someone has a solution because like Diego said, we can't afford to miss out on benefits over a technical problem!

•I'm having the same exact problem! Started yesterday and I've tried everything - different browsers, clearing cache, even tried from my work computer. Nothing works. It's definitely feeling like a system-wide issue rather than something on our end. Maybe we should all try calling at the same time and flood their phones until they acknowledge there's a problem? This is so stressful when bills are due and we're depending on these benefits 😤

I'm going through the exact same nightmare right now! Been stuck on this for over a week and it's absolutely maddening. What's really frustrating is that there's no clear error message - the system just acts like my account number doesn't exist when I KNOW it's correct. I've tried every browser trick in the book, called dozens of times, and even had my neighbor try entering it on their computer just to make sure I wasn't going crazy. At this point I'm convinced it's a system-wide glitch that they're just not acknowledging. Diego, have you had any luck with any of the suggestions here? I'm desperate for any solution at this point because rent is due next week! 😩
