EDD account locked after ID.me email update - personal info 'not accurate' error
I'm completely stuck trying to access my unemployment claim! Last week I updated my email address on ID.me because it was still showing my old work email that I no longer have access to. Now when I try to log into my EDD account to certify, it keeps saying my 'personal information isn't accurate' even though NOTHING has changed except my email on ID.me. I've reset my password 4 times already but keep getting the same error message. I have an active claim with 3 weeks of benefits pending certification, and I'm afraid I'll lose them if I don't fix this soon. Has anyone else had this issue after updating their ID.me information? The EDD phone lines just disconnect me after 45 minutes of waiting.

•It's been 5 days already though... is there anything else I should try? I'm getting really worried because I need to certify by Sunday.

This is a common issue when you update your ID.me credentials. The systems don't communicate properly sometimes. Here's what you need to do: 1. Clear all cookies and cache from your browser 2. Try logging in using a different browser entirely (Firefox if you normally use Chrome, etc.) 3. Make sure you're using the exact same information on both ID.me and EDD 4. If you have any hyphens or special characters in your name, try removing them 5. Double-check that your address format matches exactly between both systems If none of that works, you'll need to call EDD directly and explain that you updated your ID.me email and now can't access your account.

•Thank you! I just tried clearing my cache and using Microsoft Edge instead of Chrome, but still getting the same error. My name is super simple (no hyphens) and I double-checked my address is exactly the same on both. Looks like I'll have to call them...

•The address thing is KEY!!! I had this exact problem and it turned out my address had "Street" spelled out on ID.me but abbreviated as "St." on EDD. Fixed that and it worked immediately!

I went through this EXACT nightmare in January!! It's ridiculous how these systems don't talk to each other properly. I spent TWO WEEKS trying to fix it on my own before finally giving up and calling EDD. Turns out they needed to manually reset something on their end. Don't waste time with all these workarounds - you need to talk to an actual EDD rep. The problem is actually getting through on their phone lines...

•That's what I'm afraid of... I've been calling for 3 days and can't get through. Either I get disconnected immediately or I wait on hold forever and then get hung up on. How did you finally reach someone?

I've had success using Claimyr to get through to EDD when regular calling fails. It basically keeps dialing for you until it gets through the busy signals, then connects you. Worked for me when I had identity verification issues back in March. You can check out how it works at claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km that shows the process. Saved me hours of redial frustration when I needed to fix my account access issues.

•is this legit? seems sketchy to use a third party service when dealing with unemployment stuff

•It's just a calling service - they don't access your EDD account or anything. They just help you get through the phone lines, then you talk directly to EDD. I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for days to get through.

•Thanks, I might try this if I can't get through tomorrow. I'm getting really desperate since my rent is due next week.

Theres another trick u can try - log out of EVERYTHING (both EDD and ID.me). Then go to the EDD homepage (not UI Online), click 'Benefit Programs Online' then 'Register or Manage Account'. Choose the option to recover username/password. Sometimes this bypasses the weird error yr getting and lets u verify different ways. Worked for me when I had the 'info not accurate' message.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I'll try this right now and report back if it works.

Another important thing to know - even if you can't log in to certify, you can still call the EDD certification phone line at 1-866-333-4606 to certify by phone. This way your benefits won't be delayed even while you're fixing the login issue. The phone certification system is separate from UI Online.

•OMG thank you!! I had no idea I could certify by phone. At least I can make sure my benefits keep coming while I sort out this mess. You're a lifesaver!

UPDATE: I finally got this resolved! After trying everything suggested here, I ended up using Claimyr to get through to an EDD rep after waiting 3 hours on hold. Turns out when I updated my email on ID.me, it created a verification mismatch. The rep had to manually update something on their system and then had me clear my browser and try again. I'm finally back in my account and was able to certify for all my weeks! Thank you everyone for your help!

•So glad you got it fixed! EDD's systems are so frustrating... but at least your benefits will continue now. Might be worth noting this solution in case it happens again in the future.

This is such a relief to see this resolved! I'm dealing with a similar issue right now where I updated my phone number on ID.me and now I'm getting authentication errors. Based on your experience, it sounds like any changes to ID.me can mess up the sync with EDD's system. I'm going to try the phone certification number first to make sure I don't miss my deadline, then work on getting through to a rep. Thanks for sharing your solution - it gives me hope that this can actually be fixed!

•Yes, any changes to your ID.me profile can definitely cause sync issues! The phone number change will likely cause the same problem I had. Definitely call 1-866-333-4606 to certify by phone first so you don't miss your deadline - that was such a relief when I found out about that option. When you do get through to EDD (whether through regular calling or using a service like Claimyr), make sure to tell them exactly what you changed on ID.me and when. The rep I spoke to said they see this all the time and it's usually a quick fix on their end once they know what happened. Good luck!
