I'm getting desperate here. I've been searching everywhere for the correct edd state of california phone number and keep finding outdated or wrong numbers that either don't work or connect me to random departments. I need to talk to someone about my claim status but every number I try either gives me a busy signal or transfers me to the wrong place. Does anyone have the current working number? I can't afford to waste more time calling dead numbers.
Filed a callback request with EDD on Monday morning after getting disconnected during my 2-hour hold. They said someone would call me back within 24-48 hours but it's been 3 full days now. Has anyone actually gotten an EDD call back recently? Starting to think I should just go back to dialing the regular number but I'm so tired of that process.
EDD callbacks are like winning the lottery - theoretically possible but don't count on it. Be proactive and call directly or use a service.
I understand the skepticism but after wasting weeks waiting, sometimes paying for efficiency makes sense. Claimyr worked for me.
Bottom line: EDD callback system is broken. Cancel your request and either call manually starting at 8am or use an auto-dialer. Don't waste more time waiting.
I've been trying to help my mom with her unemployment claim but she only speaks Tagalog fluently. I keep calling the regular EDD number and pressing 2 for Spanish but that doesn't help us. Does anyone know if there's an actual EDD tagalog hotline or Filipino language support? She's been waiting months and we can't figure out the English prompts properly.
Has anyone tried the 833 number instead? I heard it's the same line but sometimes routes differently.
Update: Finally got through using the early morning strategy and was able to request Tagalog interpretation. Took about 15 minutes to get the interpreter on a three-way call but then we resolved my mom's claim in 30 minutes. Don't give up!
Glad it worked out! Though honestly 25 attempts is still a lot - that's why I just used the calling service.
I might try the manual way first but if that doesn't work I'll look into Claimyr as backup.
I've been calling EDD during what I thought were their business hours but keep getting mixed results. Their website says M-F 8am-5pm but I swear nobody answers between noon and 1:30pm. Called yesterday at 12:15pm and got the busy message instantly, then called at 1:45pm and actually got through to hold. Is there some unofficial lunch break they don't tell you about? Also heard conflicting info about whether they take calls after 4pm - some people say they stop answering new calls by then. Can anyone confirm the real EDD call hours?
Update: Finally broke down and used Claimyr after reading about it here. Got a callback in 28 minutes with an actual human on the line. Resolved my issue in 10 minutes. Wish I'd done this weeks ago instead of wasting 40+ hours calling manually.
Think it was like $20 something. Honestly best money I ever spent when you consider I was losing entire days to calling. Time is money.
Same experience here. Used Claimyr twice now, both times got through in under 40 minutes. Way better than the manual calling nightmare.
The real EDD call hours based on my experience: M-F 8am-12pm and 1:30pm-4pm. That's when you have any realistic chance of reaching someone. Outside those windows you're just wasting time.
I've been searching everywhere for a direct EDD Rancho Cordova phone number but can't find anything that works. I keep getting transferred around or told to use the main 800 number which has been impossible to get through on. Does anyone know if the Rancho Cordova office has its own phone line? I'm desperate to talk to someone about my claim and the main number just gives me the runaround after 2+ hour holds.
Pro tip: if you're on a limited phone plan, calling EDD will destroy your minutes. I went over my plan three times before I realized how much I was calling.
UPDATE: Just tried Claimyr based on recommendations here. Got a callback in 32 minutes with an actual human agent. Solved my issue in 10 minutes. Wish I'd done this weeks ago instead of the manual calling torture.

If you're going to keep trying manually, at least use speakerphone and do other things while redialing. Don't just sit there holding your phone for hours - that's torture.

Exactly. If you're going to be stuck in the calling loop, might as well be productive with the rest of your time.

Good tip. I was just sitting there getting more frustrated with each busy signal.

Final update: After reading this thread, I signed up for Claimyr this morning and got my callback 37 minutes later. Problem solved, claim fixed. Should have done this weeks ago instead of the manual calling nightmare.

Do it. The relief of knowing you don't have to spend another day redialing is worth the cost alone.

Welcome to the club! It's amazing how much stress disappears when you're not constantly hitting redial.
