EDD call back - been waiting 3 days for them to return my call, anyone else?
Filed a callback request with EDD on Monday morning after getting disconnected during my 2-hour hold. They said someone would call me back within 24-48 hours but it's been 3 full days now. Has anyone actually gotten an EDD call back recently? Starting to think I should just go back to dialing the regular number but I'm so tired of that process.

I've been waiting 6 days for my callback. Starting to think they don't actually call back anymore, just tell you that to get you off the line.

•That's exactly what I'm afraid of! Did you try calling back to check on your callback status?

Mikayla Davison
•Yeah I tried but they just said 'someone will call you back' again. Feels like a loop.

EDD callbacks are basically a myth at this point. I waited 2 weeks and never heard anything. Went back to calling manually.

•Same experience here. The callback system seems broken or they're just overwhelmed.

•Probably both. The whole phone system is a mess right now.

I got frustrated with the callback wait and used Claimyr instead. Got connected to an agent in 15 minutes versus waiting weeks for a callback that never came.

•What's Claimyr? Never heard of that before.

•It's a service that calls EDD for you and connects you when they get an agent. Check claimyr.com - way faster than waiting for callbacks.

•Is that legit? Sounds too good to be true.

The callback system worked better during the pandemic but now it's basically useless. Most people wait weeks or never get called back.

•Why do they even offer callbacks if they don't actually do them? Just wastes everyone's time.

•Probably to reduce the call volume. Makes people think they don't need to keep calling.

I waited 10 days for my callback before giving up. Started calling manually again at 8am sharp - got through on day 3 of trying.

•How many attempts did it take each day before you got through?

Saleem Vaziri
•Usually 40-60 attempts just to get on hold. Then 2+ hour wait. It's brutal but callbacks clearly don't work.

Cancel your callback request and just call directly. Use the 1-wait-1-1-*** pattern and call right at 8am. Don't waste time waiting for callbacks.

•What's the 1-wait-1-1-*** pattern? New to this whole calling EDD thing.

•After dialing 800-300-5616, press 1 for English, wait about 70 seconds, then press 1-1-*-*-*. Saves time on the menu.

The callback system is just a way for them to manage call volume. I don't think they actually prioritize callbacks at all.

•Makes sense. They probably figure if your issue is urgent enough you'll keep calling anyway.

Lilly Curtis
•Exactly. It's just a pacifier to get people to stop calling temporarily.

I actually got a callback after 8 days but it was at 4:50pm on a Friday and I missed it. They didn't leave a voicemail or call back again.

Max Reyes
•That's so frustrating! Did you try calling back to tell them you missed it?

Jasmine Hancock
•Yeah but they just put me back in the callback queue. Basically started over.

Pro tip: don't wait for callbacks. Call Wednesday or Thursday afternoons for best success rates. Avoid Monday mornings and lunch time (12-1:30pm).

•Why Wednesday/Thursday specifically? Does it really make a difference?

Cole Roush
•Yeah, Mondays are swamped and Fridays people give up. Mid-week has better odds but still takes many attempts.

I was in the same situation and ended up using Claimyr after waiting 12 days for a callback. Got connected in 25 minutes and resolved my issue same day.

•How much does Claimyr cost? Is it worth it compared to just waiting?

Arnav Bengali
•For me it was totally worth it. Time is money and I'd already wasted weeks waiting. Check their video demo at https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10

EDD callbacks are hit or miss but mostly miss. The agents are probably too busy with live calls to make callbacks.

Rachel Tao
•That makes sense. Live calls probably take priority over callback lists.

Sayid Hassan
•Exactly. Plus they probably have thousands of callback requests backed up.

I've been doing this for months - callbacks almost never happen. Save yourself the wait and just call manually or use an auto-dialer.

Danielle Mays
•What auto-dialers actually work? I've seen some scammy looking ones online.

•Claimyr is the main legitimate one I know of. Been around for years and has good reviews.

The callback system worked maybe 6 months ago but now it's completely broken. Don't waste your time waiting - be proactive and call directly.

•Agreed. I think they just offer callbacks to reduce immediate call volume but don't actually follow through.

•This is so disappointing. Guess I'm back to the manual calling grind tomorrow morning.

If you're going to call manually, make sure you start before 8am and have your coffee ready. It's going to be a long day of redialing.

Seraphina Delan
•How early should you start? I tried calling at 7:55am but just got a closed message.
0 coins
Niko Ramsey
•Yeah you can't actually get through before 8am, but you can start dialing at 7:58 so you hit the menu right at 8.

Cancel your callback and try a different approach. The callback system is basically abandoned at this point.
0 coins
Max Reyes
•How do you cancel a callback request? I can't find that option anywhere.
0 coins
Jabari-Jo
•You have to call in and ask them to cancel it. But honestly, just start calling manually and ignore the callback.

I waited 3 weeks for my callback before giving up and trying Claimyr. Wish I had done it sooner - got through same day and saved weeks of stress.

•How quickly did Claimyr actually get you connected? Their website says 5-40 minutes.

•Mine took about 30 minutes on a Tuesday afternoon. Way better than weeks of waiting for nothing.

The callback system is just EDD's way of kicking the can down the road. They know most people will eventually give up or find another way.
0 coins
Alberto Souchard
•That's pretty cynical but probably accurate. They're overwhelmed and callbacks are lowest priority.
0 coins
Nia Watson
•Not cynical, just realistic. I work in customer service and that's exactly what overwhelmed companies do.

Just went through this last month. Waited 2 weeks for callback, never came. Started calling manually and got through in 3 days. Don't wait for callbacks.

Max Reyes
•3 days of manual calling sounds exhausting. How many hours per day were you calling?
0 coins
Katherine Shultz
•Probably 4-5 hours each day. It's brutal but callbacks clearly don't work anymore.

EDD callbacks are like winning the lottery - theoretically possible but don't count on it. Be proactive and call directly or use a service.

Hailey O'Leary
•What services actually work? I'm skeptical of paying for something I can do myself.

Marcus Marsh
•I understand the skepticism but after wasting weeks waiting, sometimes paying for efficiency makes sense. Claimyr worked for me.

Bottom line: EDD callback system is broken. Cancel your request and either call manually starting at 8am or use an auto-dialer. Don't waste more time waiting.

Max Reyes
•Thanks everyone. Sounds like the consensus is clear - callbacks don't work anymore. I'll start calling manually tomorrow.

•Good luck! Remember to avoid calling during lunch (12-1:30pm) and have patience. It usually takes many attempts just to get on hold.
