I'm an EDD employee (not official capacity here). The system is super backed up right now due to budget cuts and increased claims. We're doing our best, but it's tough. My advice: make sure all your docs are in order and keep trying to reach out. Sorry you're dealing with this. 😕
I'm in the same boat, been waiting since December. Starting to wonder if I should just give up and go back to work without the benefits. This is so stressful.
Has anyone tried showing up in person at an EDD office? I'm considering camping out overnight if that's what it takes to get this resolved.
Pro tip: if you can't get thru on the phone, try contacting your local state representative's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help push things along.
Heads up, they might try to lowball you on the c-section recovery time. My wife's doctor recommended 8 weeks, but they initially only approved 6. We had to appeal to get the full time. Don't be afraid to push back if needed!

•ikr? It's like they want us to give up and not take the leave we're entitled to 😤

Has anyone had luck getting their case out of pending status quickly? I've been waiting for weeks and I'm starting to panic...

•Try calling first thing in the morning, like right when they open. Sometimes you can catch someone before the lines get crazy.

•I emailed them every day until they responded. Squeaky wheel gets the grease and all that 🤷♂️
