PFL payment pending for 6+ weeks - need advice!
Has anyone else been waiting forever for their paid family leave payment? It's been over 6 weeks since I applied and still nothing. I'm getting really worried because I really need this money. Any advice on how to speed up the process or at least get some information about what's going on with my claim?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I waited almost 8 weeks for mine. The system is so backed up right now, it's ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? That's what finally worked for me.

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating! How many times did you have to call before you got someone?

Honestly, I lost count 😅 I think I tried like 50 times over a couple days. It's a total nightmare.

50 times?! That's insane. There's gotta be a better way to handle this stuff. The whole system needs an overhaul.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it IMO.

Interesting. How long did you have to wait after using the service?

Not long at all. Maybe 30 minutes? Way better than spending all day hitting redial.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with PFL: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and any communication with them. 2. Double-check that you've submitted all required documents. Sometimes they don't tell you if something's missing. 3. Reach out to your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. 4. Be persistent. Keep calling and emailing. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. 5. Check your online account regularly for updates or requests for additional info. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but you'll get through it!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start keeping better records. Do you know how I can find my local state rep's contact info?

Sure thing! Just google '[your state] find my representative' and there should be a website where you can enter your address to find out who represents you. Good luck!

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important emails from them end up there. Also, make sure your mailing address is up to date in their system.

Good idea, I'll double check my spam folder. Didn't even think of that!

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. That's when I finally got through after weeks of trying.
