EDD Paid Family Leave: 26+ days and still no payment. Help!

Has anyone else been waiting forever for their paid family leave payments to process? It's been over 26 days since I filed and still nothing. This is getting ridiculous. I've got bills to pay and mouths to feed. Any advice on how to speed things up or what I should say when I finally get through to someone?

I found a way to solve paid family leave payment delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OzBOu36qN4

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been waiting for almost 5 weeks now. It's like they don't even care that people have real lives and responsibilities. Have you tried calling them? I've been trying to get through for days but no luck.

Calling is a nightmare. I spent 3 hours on hold yesterday only to get disconnected. 🤬

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes of hold time that way.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

Here's what you need to do when you finally get through to an agent: 1. Ask for a detailed status update on your claim 2. Have all your documentation ready (claim number, dates, etc.) 3. Request info on next steps and timeline 4. If they can't help, politely ask to speak with a supervisor 5. Document everything - get names and ID numbers of who you talk to Stay calm but firm. Remember, the person on the phone didn't cause the delay, but they can hopefully help fix it. Good luck!

This is super helpful, thank you! I'll definitely use this as a guide when I call. Appreciate you taking the time to write it all out.

Great advice! I'd add: ask if theres any missing info or documents on your claim. Sometimes that's whats holding things up.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

20 bucks? That's highway robbery! The government should make it easier to reach them without having to pay extra.

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I got through in like 2 hours. Worth every penny imo.

have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can light a fire under EDD's a** and get things moving.

26 days? That's nothing. I've been waiting for 3 months. The system is completely broken. 😤

3 months?! That's insane. How are you surviving?

Barely. Had to borrow money from family and max out credit cards. It's a nightmare.

Has anyone else noticed that the EDD website is always "undergoing maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

omg yes! It's like they don't want us to file claims or check status. So frustrating!

I heard they're super backlogged because of all the covid claims still. Might be why it's taking so long for everyone.

Plot twist: EDD is actually run by sloths. That's why everything takes foreverrrrr 🦥

Nah, sloths would be an improvement. At least they're cute.
