PFL claim stuck for 2 months - any tips to speed it up?

Has anyone else been waiting forever for their paid family leave claim to be processed? It's been 2 months for me and I'm starting to get worried. I've tried calling but can never get through to a real person. Any advice on how to speed things up or at least find out what's going on with my claim?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I waited almost 3 months for mine to go through. It's ridiculous how long it takes. Have you tried faxing in your documents? Sometimes that can help speed things up a bit.

Thanks for the tip! I haven't tried faxing yet. Do you know if there's a specific fax number I should use?

Yeah, there should be a fax number on their website. Just make sure to include your claim number on every page you fax!

2 months is actually not that bad compared to some stories I've heard. My cousin waited 6 months! The system is totally broken 😡

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before they actually contact you. Also, make sure you've submitted all the required documents. Missing paperwork can cause major delays.

I've been checking online obsessively, but no updates. And I'm pretty sure I submitted everything... guess I'll double-check though. Thanks!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical at first too, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration!

20 bucks tho? 😬 That's steep just to talk to someone...

I get it, but for me it was worth it. I was going crazy trying to get through on my own.

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research about speeding up paid family leave claims: 1. Double-check all your documentation. Make sure you've submitted everything they ask for, including any medical certifications. 2. Use their online portal to upload documents if possible. It's usually faster than mail. 3. If you fax documents, keep the confirmation page as proof. 4. Call early in the morning, right when they open. You're more likely to get through. 5. If you can't get through by phone, try emailing. Sometimes they respond faster that way. 6. Contact your state representative's office. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. 7. Be persistent but polite. The people handling claims are usually overworked. 8. If you're in dire financial straits, mention that in your communications. Some states have processes to expedite urgent cases. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. 💪

Ikr? It's like they expect us to live on air and sunshine. 🙄 The whole system needs an overhaul.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of their other departments and ask to be transferred. Sometimes that works!

Anyone else notice that they seem to move faster if you bug them on social media? Try tweeting at them or messaging on Facebook. Sometimes public pressure helps!
