PFL claim: Need to change last day of disability, can't reach anyone by phone. Help!
I submitted a PFL claim over a month ago and I need to change the last day of disability. I've been trying to reach them by phone without any luck. It's been so frustrating waiting without pay. Has anyone had success getting through to make changes to their claim? Any advice on how to speed up this process?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last year. It took me forever to get through to someone. Have you tried calling right when they open? That seemed to work for me after like a million attempts.

I've tried that a few times, but no luck so far. How long did it take you to finally get through?

It took me about 2 weeks of trying every single day. It was exhausting, but I finally got lucky one morning. Keep at it!

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I'm skeptical. $20 just to make a phone call? 🤔

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me so much time and stress. Worth every penny imo.

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

They don't guarantee it, but they keep trying until they get through. It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to do anything. They just called me when they had an agent on the line.

Have you tried faxing your request? Sometimes that can be faster than calling.

This is why I always tell people to double and triple check their claims before submitting. It's such a headache to make changes afterwards.

Hey, just trying to help future claimants. No need to get snarky.

I've been dealing with PFL issues for 3 months now. It's a total clown show 🤡 Good luck, OP. You're gonna need it.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call exactly at 8:00 AM when they open. 2. If you get a busy signal, hang up and immediately redial. 3. Keep doing this for at least 30 minutes. 4. If you get through, DO NOT hang up no matter what. 5. Be super nice to the rep when you finally talk to someone. It took me about a week of trying this method, but I finally got through and got my issue resolved. Stay persistent!

This is solid advice. I did something similar and it worked after a few days.

I haven't thought of that. Which platform do you think would be best?

Oof, changing dates on a PFL claim is the worst. I had to do this last year and it took forever. Hang in there!

This might sound crazy, but have you tried going to their office in person? I did that as a last resort and actually got help pretty quickly.

Wait, you can do that? I thought everything was online/phone only now.

Some offices are open for in-person help, but it depends on your location. Worth checking!
