PFL Nightmare: Denied Benefits, Missing Declaration, No Response to Appeal - Help!

I've been dealing with Paid Family Leave (PFL) for years now, taking care of my elderly parent. Every year, it's the same headache with paperwork and delays. Recently, I submitted several claims for short intermittent leaves. PFL sent me a computation and a "Notice of Denied Paid Family Leave Benefits - Declaration Missing" form. I appealed on 12/9 and haven't heard back. The form required my signature, 2 witness signatures, and a doctor's signature stating my parent couldn't sign due to physical and mental issues. I provided everything they asked for, both in writing and through their online portal. It's frustrating that it takes months to clear up these problems each time. I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

I reached out to my assembly member s'office when I was stuck in limbo for months with a disability claim similar (bureaucracy .)Their caseworker was able to get through to the right department and get movement on my case within a couple weeks. They have special phone lines and contacts that regular people don t'have access to. As for repeat claims - unfortunately it s'pretty much starting from scratch each time in my experience. They act like they ve'never seen you before even if you ve'been filing for years. The only advantage is that YOU know the process better, but their system doesn t'seem to retain much institutional memory. Definitely keep all your old paperwork organized because you might need to re-submit things they should already have!
