No EDD claim updates since 9/29 - over a month of silence. What to do?

I haven't received any updates on my claim since September 29th. It's been over a month now and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced such a long delay? I've tried calling but can't get through to a real person. Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Been waiting since early October with no word. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. Have you tried emailing them? I heard sometimes that works better than calling.

I haven't tried emailing yet. Do you have the address? I'll give it a shot, thanks!

Yeah, it's edd@edd.ca.gov I think. Good luck! Let us know if you hear anything back.

Emailing worked for me last year, but now they seem to be ignoring those too. The whole system is a joke šŸ¤”

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery!

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's insane. The government should be ashamed.

Can confirm, I used it last week. Got through in about 2 hours. Way better than spending all day redialing.

I used it too. Got through in like 30 minutes. Expensive but beats wasting a whole day on hold.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update there without sending a notification. Also, make sure you've completed all the certifications they've asked for.

I've been dealing with EDD for over a year now, and let me tell you, patience is key. Here's what I've learned: ā€¢ Keep calling, even if it seems hopeless. Try different times of day. ā€¢ Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online update. ā€¢ Reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite things. ā€¢ Check your spam folder regularly. Important emails sometimes end up there. ā€¢ Don't give up! It's frustrating, but persistence pays off. Hang in there, OP. I know it's tough, but you'll get through this.

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my assembly member. Didn't even think of that.

Preach! šŸ™Œ It's like they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people.

Tin foil hat time: what if they're hoping people will just give up so they don't have to pay out as much? šŸ¤”

Hey OP, have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds archaic, but sometimes it gets faster results than mailing or uploading online.

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? šŸ˜‚ But seriously, I'll give it a try if nothing else works. Thanks for the tip!

I heard they're implementing a new system soon that's supposed to speed things up. Anyone know when that's happening?

LOL, they've been saying that for years. I'll believe it when I see it.

My friend who works in IT says it's always a mess when gov agencies update systems. Prepare for more delays šŸ˜©

I've been dealing with this for 3 months now. It's absolutely infuriating. I've tried everything - calling, emailing, even sent a physical letter. Nothing works. I'm about ready to show up at their office and refuse to leave until someone helps me.

Careful with that, you might end up getting arrested instead of getting help šŸ˜…

At this point, I almost don't care. At least in jail I'd get 3 meals a day šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for way too long: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it seems hopeless. 2. Try calling right when they open or just before they close. Sometimes you have better luck. 3. Use the online portal to send messages. It's slow, but they do respond eventually. 4. If you have a complex case, request a callback. It might take a while, but it's better than being on hold forever. 5. Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every email, every letter. You might need it later. 6. If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite things. Hang in there, OP. I know it's frustrating, but don't give up!

I feel your pain, OP. The waiting game is the worst. Have you considered reaching out to your local assemblymember or state senator? They sometimes have staff dedicated to helping constituents with EDD issues.
