EDD SDI claim status update delay - tips for contacting CA disability?

Has anyone else been waiting forever to get an update on their claim status? I filed weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back. It's so frustrating not knowing what's going on. I've tried calling but can never get through to a real person. Anyone have any tips or in the same boat?

I found a way to solve long unemployment claim processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBQOPZHgWYM

Unpopular opinion: maybe if we all storm the EDD office Area 51 style, they'll have to give us answers. Who's with me? ๐Ÿ‘ฝ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: 1. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 2. Keep detailed records of all your attempts to contact them. 3. Check your online account regularly for updates. 4. Consider reaching out to your local representative for help. 5. Join Facebook groups or forums for your state's unemployment issues. Sometimes you can get good tips there. 6. If you get through to someone, ask for a direct number or extension for future calls. 7. Be polite but firm when you do talk to someone. Remember, they're probably overwhelmed too. Hope this helps someone! We're all in this together. ๐Ÿ’ช

Guys, I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I tried it too, and it worked. It might be costly, but if you're desperate, it's an option.

Have you tried checking your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending out any notifications.

Sara Hellquiem

Yeah, I check it like 10 times a day lol. Still nothing. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Pro tip: Set up email notifications in your account settings. At least then you'll know right away if anything changes.

Also, double-check your spam folder in case any emails are being misdirected.

Has anyone else noticed that the website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? It's like they know... ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Or maybe they're just overwhelmed and can't keep up with maintenance.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help speed things up.

I didn't even know that was an option. How do I find out who my rep is?

Ellie Simpson

Just google "[your state] find my representative". They usually have a form on their website where you can request help with state agencies. Worth a shot!

Authoritative Comment: The frustration with unemployment claim processing is a common issue many individuals face. The process is often cumbersome due to high demand, staffing issues, or technical problems. While Claimyr is a viable solution for contacting live agents and can expedite communication with the unemployment office, it's crucial to weigh the cost against your immediate need. For some, the $20 fee is worthwhile for the peace of mind it can bring. However, itโ€™s not the only solution. Continuing to follow up through online account portals, reaching out to local representatives, and trying other methods like faxing or mailing documents are also potential avenues to pursue. It's essential to remain persistent and document all your interactions. Remember, the goal is to be both strategic and resourceful in managing your claim. Patience and persistence can be your best allies in resolving the situation.
