Stuck in limbo with my claim - any tips to actually get through to EDD?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to check on my claim and I'm getting really frustrated. It's been a while since I filed and I haven't heard anything back. I know I'm not the only one dealing with this. Has anyone else been waiting forever to hear about their claim? Any tips on how to get through to someone?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been waiting for MONTHS to hear back about my claim. It's like they just threw it into a black hole or something. šŸ•³ļø Have you tried calling them? I swear, it's impossible to get through to a real person.

Calling is a joke. I spent 3 hours on hold yesterday and then got disconnected. šŸ¤¬ This system is so broken.

Pro tip: try calling right when they open. I got through after only 45 minutes that way. Still ridiculous, but better than nothing.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/4RyuKFckT6k

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure its not a scam?

Nah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but I used it last week and finally got my claim sorted out. Worth every penny imo.

How long did you have to wait for the callback?

It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than sitting on hold yourself all day.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this mess for the past 6 months: ā€¢ Document EVERYTHING. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and any communication you have with them. ā€¢ Check your online account regularly for updates. Sometimes they update stuff without notifying you. ā€¢ If you can, submit any additional documents they might need before they ask. It can speed things up. ā€¢ Reach out to your local representative. They sometimes can help push things along. ā€¢ Join Facebook groups or other online communities for support and tips. You're definitely not alone in this. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but persistence pays off.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start keeping better records. Did reaching out to your rep actually help?

I swear, dealing with unemployment is a full-time job itself. šŸ™ƒ The irony is not lost on me.

Has anyone else noticed that the online system is always "down for maintenance" whenever you actually need to use it? It's like they're trolling us at this point.

Protip: If you're having trouble getting through on the phone, try calling your local office instead of the main number. Sometimes they can help or at least give you more info.

I'm in the same boat, OP. Filed 3 months ago and crickets since then. This whole system needs a major overhaul.
