Frustrated with claim follow-up - any tips to actually reach someone?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to follow up on my claim but I'm not sure what to do next. I've been waiting for a while and haven't heard anything back. Anyone have any tips on how to get through to someone or what I should do? I'm getting pretty frustrated with the whole process.

I found a way to solve unemployment claim follow-up issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DP0Yt_FMHNE

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been in the same boat for weeks now. It's like they don't even care about us 😤

Weeks? Try months! I've been trying to get an update since March. This system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

Have you guys tried calling first thing in the morning? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Yeah, I've tried that. No luck. It's like they have one person answering phones for the whole state 🙄

I actually found a method that works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20? That's ridiculous. We shouldn't have to pay to get basic service 😡

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through to a real person. Worth every penny imho

Can you give more details about how it works? I'm desperate at this point

Sure! You just go to the website, choose the department you need to call, pay, and then they start calling for you. When they get a real person, your phone rings and you're connected. Saved me hours of hold time.

Have you tried emailing them? I know it's not ideal, but I actually got a response after a couple of days when I sent an email.

Okay, listen up. Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them, including dates and times. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Try different times. Early morning or late afternoon sometimes works better. 4. Use their online portal if they have one. Sometimes you can get updates there. 5. If all else fails, contact your local representative. They can sometimes help push things through. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!

This is solid advice. I'd add: be super nice to the person who answers. They deal with angry people all day and being kind can go a long way.

Contacting my rep actually worked for me! Took about a week, but they got things moving.

Has anyone tried going to the office in person? I'm thinking of doing that tomorrow, I'm so fed up with waiting.

I tried that last week. They just told me to go home and call the number. Complete waste of time 🙄

I'm thinking we start with a petition and maybe some social media campaigning. Get some attention on this issue. I'll start a new thread to brainstorm ideas!
