Need help getting claim status update from EDD - any tips to actually reach an agent?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get an update on my claim status. I've been waiting for a while and I'm not sure what's going on. Has anyone had any luck getting through to an agent lately? I'm thinking about calling them, but I'm worried about being on hold forever. Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get an update on my claim for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach anyone. Have you tried calling early in the morning? I've heard that's sometimes better.

Early morning calls are hit or miss tbh. I tried that and still ended up waiting for hours 🙄

Same here. I've tried calling at all hours and it's always a nightmare. The system is so broken.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give it a shot, but it sounds like it might not make much difference. This is so frustrating.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

Idk man, paying to get through seems kinda sketchy. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but I swear it worked for me. The $20 was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. But yeah, do your own research!

How long did it take for them to actually connect you with someone?

It took about an hour and a half, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Here's what I've learned from my experience dealing with claim status updates: 1. Be persistent. Sometimes you have to call multiple times before getting through. 2. Have all your information ready when you call. They'll ask for your SSN, claim number, and other details. 3. Keep a log of when you call and who you speak to. This can be helpful if you need to follow up later. 4. Check your online account regularly. Sometimes updates are posted there before you can reach anyone by phone. 5. If possible, try to use their online messaging system. It's slow, but you might get a response eventually. 6. Consider reaching out to your local representative's office. They can sometimes help push things along. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. We're all in the same boat. 🚣‍♀️

I'm telling you, the whole system is rigged against us. They make it impossible to get help on purpose. It's all a scam to avoid paying out claims. 🤬

Calm down, Alex Jones. It's not a conspiracy, just good old-fashioned bureaucratic incompetence. 🙄

Wake up, sheeple! 🐑 You really think it's just incompetence when it's been this bad for so long? They know exactly what they're doing!

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling one of their auxiliary numbers and then ask to be transferred. Sometimes works like a charm!

Ooh, sneaky. I like it. 😈 Any specific numbers you'd recommend?

I've had luck with the employer line and the overpayment line. Just play dumb when they answer and ask to be transferred to claims.

Hey, breathe. It's gonna be okay. Have you looked into local rent assistance programs? Some cities have emergency funds for situations like this.

PROTIP: Use the Spanish line even if you don't speak Spanish. Wait times are usually shorter and most agents speak English too. 🤫

Dude, that's kinda messed up. What about people who actually need the Spanish line?

Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures. The whole system is messed up anyway.
