Can't get through to check claim status - EDD phone system nightmare. Any success stories?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to check the status of my claim but I can't seem to get through to anyone on the phone. I've been trying for hours and it's so frustrating. Has anyone had any luck getting through lately? Any tips or tricks would be really appreciated. I'm starting to worry about my claim and I just need to know what's going on.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone. Have you tried calling right when they open? I've heard that can sometimes work.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for way too long: 1. Keep calling, even if it seems hopeless. Persistence is key. 2. Try different times of day. Early morning or late afternoon can sometimes work better. 3. If you get through the menu but then get disconnected, keep trying. You're getting closer! 4. Check your claim status online if possible. Sometimes updates happen without them contacting you. 5. Document everything. Keep a log of when you call and what happens. 6. If all else fails, contact your local representative.
