How to check PFL claim status? Stuck in limbo, need help!
Hey everyone, I'm trying to check the status of my Paid Family Leave claim. Has anyone had any luck getting through to them lately? I've been waiting for what feels like forever and I'm starting to get worried. Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been trying to get an update on my PFL claim for weeks now. It's like they've gone radio silent or something. Have you tried calling their hotline?

Yeah, I've tried calling but I just keep getting stuck in this endless loop of automated messages. It's so frustrating! š¤

Pro tip: try calling right when they open. I managed to get through after only a 30 minute wait last week. Good luck!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I get the skepticism, but honestly, after weeks of trying to get through, it was worth every penny for me. Saved me so much time and stress.

How long did you have to wait once they connected you?

It took about an hour total, but I didn't have to actively wait on hold. They called me when an agent was ready. Way better than spending all day hitting redial!

3 months?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help speed things up.

I work in HR and deal with this stuff all the time. Here's what you need to know about checking your Paid Family Leave claim status: ā¢ First, try the online portal. It's usually the quickest way to get basic status updates. ā¢ If that doesn't work, call the PFL hotline. Best times are usually early morning or late afternoon. ā¢ Have your claim number, SSN, and any relevant dates ready when you call. ā¢ Be persistent! Sometimes it takes multiple attempts to get through. ā¢ If you're still stuck after a week of trying, consider reaching out to your state representative or ombudsman. ā¢ Document all your attempts to contact them. This can be helpful if there are any disputes later. Remember, processing times can vary depending on the complexity of your claim and current workload. Don't panic if it's taking a while, but don't be afraid to advocate for yourself either!

This should be pinned at the top of the subreddit. So many people asking the same questions over and over.

Anyone else notice how the wait times seem to get longer every year? I swear it used to be easier to get answers about PFL claims...

Preach! š I think they're understaffed and overwhelmed. Doesn't make it any less frustrating for us tho

Hey OP, what state are you in? The process can vary a bit depending on where you live.
