Entered wrong end date on PFL caregiving claim - how to fix after submission?

I'm completely panicking right now! I just submitted my PFL claim for caring for my mom after her hip surgery, but I made a HUGE mistake - I entered April 27, 2025 instead of May 27, 2025 as the 'Date you want to be paid through'. I already hit submit and can't go back to fix it. This is a whole month difference and I need that time to care for her! Has anyone dealt with this before? Should I submit a completely new application with the correct date? Or should I try calling EDD to amend the existing claim? I'm worried that submitting a second claim might cause problems or delays. Please help - I can't afford to lose a month of benefits!

Don't submit another application! That will definitely cause confusion in their system and might flag your account for potential fraud. You need to call EDD directly to explain the situation and request an amendment to your existing claim. For PFL caregiving claims, they can adjust the through date, but only if you contact them before they process the claim. Call them ASAP!

I did the exsact same thing last year but with the start date. Put Feb instead of March lol. EDD actually caught it themselves and called me to verify the correct date. But it delayed my benefits for like 3 weeks while they fixed it. So def call them and get it fixed fast if u can!!

I've been calling EDD for 2 days now about a completely different PFL issue (they mixed up my claim with someone else's!) and can't get through at all. Have called at least 30 times just to get disconnected or told they're too busy. The whole system is a nightmare when you need to actually talk to a human being.
