EDD PFL: Tips for following up on uploaded FMLA form and reaching a helpful agent?
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with some FMLA stuff and could use some advice. I uploaded my form a while back and now I'm trying to follow up on it. Has anyone else gone through this process? What should I expect when I call to check on the status? Any tips for getting through to someone who can actually help?

I found a way to solve FMLA form status follow-up, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2WoDl056XI

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely have all that info ready. Any idea how long the whole process usually takes?

It can vary a lot, tbh. Mine took about 3 weeks from when I submitted the form to when it was fully processed. But I've heard of it taking longer for some people.

Ugh, FMLA can be such a headache. When I went through it, it took forever to get any updates. Make sure you have the exact date you uploaded the form when you call. They'll probably ask for that.

True, having all your dates and documentation ready can speed things up. Also, jot down the names of the people you speak to!

Pro tip: call first thing in the morning when they open. You're more likely to get through quickly and catch someone before they're burnt out from a day of calls.

Great advice! Sometimes catching them in a good mood right at the start of the day makes all the difference.

Hey OP, make sure you keep copies of EVERYTHING. I learned the hard way that they can "lose" your documents. Cover your bases!

So true! Having physical copies is a lifesaver when they claim not to have received something.

Anyone else notice that their online system is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? š Coincidence? I think not.

Haha, I feel you. It's always right when you're about to get things done that they have these 'maintenances'.

I've been there, buddy. It's like pulling teeth sometimes. Here's what I'd recommend: ā¢ Have your claim number ready ā¢ Know the exact date you uploaded the form ā¢ Ask specific questions like "Has my form been reviewed?" or "Do you need any additional info from me?" ā¢ Be prepared to wait on hold for a while (bring a book or something lol) ā¢ If the first person can't help, politely ask to speak with a supervisor Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. (https://www.claimyr.com

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does work! I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth it IMO if you're really stuck.

Claimyr seems like a convenient tool for those who have been frustrated by long hold times. But, it's important to note that some might find the cost prohibitive. It's great that it works for those willing to pay, though!

Have you tried faxing your form instead of uploading? Sometimes old school methods work better with these bureaucratic nightmares š¤·āāļø

Faxing can be surprisingly effective with some government agencies. They might process it faster because it's less common nowadays.

Navigating the FMLA process can indeed be daunting, but preparation and persistence are key. While services like Claimyr can offer a helpful shortcut for those willing to pay, it's important to weigh the benefits against the cost. Remember that consistently following up, documenting every interaction, and being familiar with your rights can go a long way in ensuring your FMLA request is processed smoothly. Also, consider reaching out to HR or legal support within your organization for additional assistance and advice tailored to your specific situation. Stay resilient, and best of luck!

am i the only 1 who thinks its ridiculous we have to jump through so many hoops for FMLA? like, we're already dealing with stuff serious enough to need leave, why make it harder? š
