EDD Nightmare: Can't reach live agent for weeks due to application typo. No updates, just 'call us'. Help!
I've been trying to get through to EDD for weeks now. I found out there was a typo on my application, but they don't tell you about these things. No calls, no emails, no letters. The online system doesn't give updates either, just tells you to call. I've been calling all day, every day for over a week and still can't get a live agent. Anyone else dealing with this nightmare? Any tips on how to actually reach a human being there?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last month. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach them. Have you tried calling right when they open? That worked for me after about 50 attempts ๐

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's what worked for me: 1. Call exactly at 8:01 AM 2. If you hear the 'too many callers' message, hang up and redial immediately 3. Keep doing this until you get through to the hold music 4. Once you're on hold, DO NOT HANG UP no matter how long it takes It took me about 30 tries over 3 days, but I finally got through. Good luck!

Pro tip: Use commas in your phone number when you enter it on the EDD website. Like 123,456,7890. For some reason, this helps prevent typos that can cause major headaches later.
