EDD Disability: Paperwork sent a month ago, no response. What now?
I sent my paperwork to EDD disability over a month ago and still haven't heard anything back. I'm starting to worry that they never received it or it got lost somewhere. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I just resend everything or is there a way to check if they have my forms? I'm getting anxious because I really need this sorted out soon.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. It's so frustrating when you're left in limbo like that. Have you tried calling them? I know it's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call for days but can never get through. It's like their lines are always busy or something. Any tips on the best time to call?

Honestly, it's hit or miss. I had the most luck calling right when they opened in the morning. But be prepared to spend a good chunk of your day on hold. ðĐ

Pro tip: use an auto-dialer app. It'll keep redialing until you get through. Saved me hours of frustration!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. The $20 was worth it to finally get my issue resolved.

I get the skepticism, but it's legit. They have good reviews online and it worked for me. Just sharing what helped me out ðĪ·ââïļ

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for way too long: 1. Always keep copies of EVERYTHING you send them. 2. Send important docs via certified mail so you have proof of delivery. 3. If you haven't heard back in 2-3 weeks, start calling. 4. Use their online portal to check your claim status if possible. 5. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes help push things through. Hope this helps! Hang in there, the system is a mess but you'll get through it eventually.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start with checking the online portal and then try calling again. Really appreciate it!

Oof, classic EDD move. They're probably using your paperwork as coffee coasters by now ð But seriously, don't wait any longer. Call them ASAP and be prepared to be on hold for approximately 84 years.

LMAO ðĪĢ 84 years is optimistic. I swear their hold music is my new lullaby at this point

Right? I'm pretty sure I could hum their entire hold playlist in my sleep now ð

I had the same issue last month. Turns out they had my paperwork but it was under the wrong SSN (they transposed two numbers). Definitely call and check. It's a pain but better than waiting forever.

Oh no, that's scary! I'll definitely double check that when I finally get through. Thanks for the heads up!

Anyone else feel like we need a support group for dealing with EDD? ð This stuff is more stressful than the reason we're applying for benefits in the first place!
