SDI benefits MIA for 3+ months after submitting paperwork - what to do?

Has anyone else been waiting forever to hear back about their disability benefits? I sent in all the paperwork they asked for like 3 months ago and still haven't gotten any payments or updates. Starting to get worried... What should I do?

I found a way to solve long disability benefits delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8YDFXnF2fQ

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat a few months back. It's so frustrating when you're counting on that money and they just leave you hanging. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's like their phone lines are always busy or something. Any tips on the best time to call?

Early morning, right when they open, is usually your best bet. But even then, it's hit or miss. Keep trying tho, you'll get through eventually!

Pro tip: use an auto-dialer app. It'll keep redialing for you until you get through. Saved me hours of frustration 👍

Three months is way too long to wait without any update. Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things along when you're dealing with government agencies.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? 🤔

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😡

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Was desperate and figured it was worth a shot. Ended up saving me days of frustration.

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they garuantee you'll get through?

Yeah, so basically you pay, then they start calling right away. When a real person picks up, your phone rings and you're connected. They do guarantee a callback or you get a refund.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them, including dates and times. 2. Send a follow-up letter via certified mail. This creates a paper trail. 3. Contact your state's Disability Determination Services office directly. They might be able to give you more info than the general helpline. 4. If all else fails, reach out to your local congressperson or senator's office. They often have liaisons who can intervene on your behalf. 5. Consider filing a complaint with your state's Department of Insurance if the delay is unreasonable. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The squeaky wheel gets the grease in these situations.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update info there before sending anything out.

Yeah, I check it like every day 😅 Still nothing new there either.

This happened to me last year. Turns out they 'lost' some of my paperwork and never bothered to tell me. Might be worth resending everything just in case.

The whole system is a joke. They expect us to jump through hoops while they take their sweet time. It's not like we don't have bills to pay or anything 🙄

Preach! 🙌 It's like they forget we're real people with real needs.

Has anyone had luck with the online chat feature on their website? I've heard mixed things but might be worth a shot if you can't get through on the phone.

I tried it once. Waited 2 hours to connect, then got disconnected after 5 minutes. YMMV 🤷‍♂️

It worked okay for me, but the rep couldn't help much with specific claim issues. Better than nothing tho
