SDI claim pending for 2 weeks, no updates. When to start bonding claim?

Hey everyone, I submitted my SDI claim about two weeks ago and it's still showing as pending. Anyone know how long it usually takes to get an update? Also, I'm not sure when I should start the claim for bonding. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel ya. I've been waiting for almost a month now and still nothing. The system is so slow its ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? Good luck getting through tho 🙄

A month?! That's insane. I thought mine was bad at 3 weeks. This whole process is a joke.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery!

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

Yeah, so you just go to their website, pick the number you want to call, pay, and they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings. Super simple.

For the bonding claim, you should start it about 2 weeks before your expected leave date. But make sure you have all your docs ready!

The SDI system is so backed up right now. I've heard they're dealing with a huge backlog from the pandemic still. It sucks, but patience is key. As for bonding, definitely start that process early!

Here's what I know about the SDI claim process: • Processing time can vary widely, from 2-8 weeks typically • If you haven't heard anything after 3 weeks, try to contact them • Make sure all your documentation is complete and accurate • Check your online account regularly for updates • If you need to speak with someone, be prepared to wait on hold for hours For the bonding claim: • Start the process about 2-4 weeks before your leave date • You'll need documentation from your employer and doctor • The bonding claim can be filed up to 41 weeks after the child's birth • You can't receive SDI and Paid Family Leave at the same time Hope this helps! The system is frustrating, but hang in there.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes updates end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in the system.

I'm in the same boat. Filed 3 weeks ago and crickets. This is so stressful!

Pro tip: if you can, apply for SDI online. It's usually faster than mailing in forms. And triple check everything before submitting!
