SDI appeal status check - Need Spanish-speaking agent but keep getting transferred to English. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my SDI appeal and I need some advice. I've been trying to get in touch with someone who speaks Spanish at the California Disability office, but every time I call, I can't seem to get transferred to a Spanish-speaking agent. It's really frustrating because I need to know the status of my appeal, but the language barrier is making it difficult. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to get connected with a Spanish-speaking representative? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain! The SDI system is a nightmare to navigate, especially if English isn't your first language. Have you tried asking for a Spanish-speaking agent as soon as someone picks up? Sometimes you gotta be really persistent.

•Yeah, I've tried that but they keep transferring me to English-speaking agents. It's like they don't understand what I'm asking for 😫

•That sucks! Maybe try calling at different times of the day? Sometimes certain shifts have more bilingual staff. Don't give up!

I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. •Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

•$20 seems steep just to talk to someone. The system is so broken if we have to pay extra just to get basic service 🙄

•I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting whole days on hold before.

Have you tried looking for community organizations that help Spanish speakers navigate government services? They might be able to advocate for you or provide translation services.

As someone who's been through the SDI appeal process, here's what I've learned: • Always ask for a case number or reference number for your appeal. This makes it easier to track. • Keep a log of every call you make, including date, time, and who you spoke to. • If possible, submit any additional documents online through their portal. • Be prepared to explain your situation clearly and concisely. • Don't be afraid to escalate to a supervisor if you're not getting help. • For Spanish speakers, try calling early in the morning or late in the afternoon when there might be different staff available. • Consider reaching out to your local state representative's office. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. Hang in there, the process is frustrating but persistence usually pays off!

•That's an interesting idea, but I'm worried about misunderstandings with important information. Has anyone tried this?

I heard they recently updated their phone system. Supposedly it has better language options now. Anyone know if thats true?

Pro tip: If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out via social media. Sometimes their Twitter or Facebook team can help or at least escalate your issue.
