How to update EDD file with doctor's note to end disability benefits?

Hey everyone, I need some help updating my EDD file. I got a doctor's note that shows I no longer need disability benefits, but I'm not sure how to get it added to my file. Has anyone gone through this process before? What's the best way to make sure they receive and process the note?

I found a way to solve updating EDD disability file, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ab0zTFzaQ1g

I went through this last year. You need to fax or mail the doctor's note to EDD. Make sure you include your claim number on every page! It can take a few weeks for them to process it, so be patient.

Fax? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But seriously, does EDD not have an online portal for this stuff?

Lol I know right? Welcome to government efficiency 🙄 But yeah, as far as I know, there's no way to upload docs online for disability stuff. It's snail mail or fax only.

Actually, there is an online option now! They added it recently. You can upload documents through your SDI account on the EDD website.

Ugh, dealing with EDD is always such a headache. I swear they make everything 10x more complicated than it needs to be. Good luck, OP!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta pay to play, ya know? 🤷‍♂️

Here's what you need to do: 1. Get a clear, legible copy of your doctor's note 2. Write your full name, claim number, and phone number on the note 3. Fax it to the EDD Disability Insurance Office at (855) 341-6309 4. Keep the fax confirmation as proof 5. Follow up by phone in about 5-7 business days if you don't see any updates online If you don't have access to a fax, you can mail it to: EDD PO Box 989777 West Sacramento, CA 95798-9777 Just remember, mailing can take longer to process. Good luck!

Quick tip: If you're gonna fax, use an online fax service. Way easier than finding an actual fax machine these days. Plus you get a digital record of everything sent.

Has anyone had luck calling the EDD directly? I've been trying for days and can't get through. It's so frustrating!

I heard if you call right when they open, you have a better chance of getting through. Haven't tried it myself tho
