How to report wages to EDD? When did you last report?

Hey everyone, I need to report my wages to EDD but I'm not sure about the process. When did you last report your wages? Any tips or advice would be really helpful. I'm kinda new to this whole thing and don't wanna mess it up.

I just reported my wages last week. It's pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it. Make sure you have all your pay stubs ready before you start. The EDD website can be a bit slow sometimes, so be patient!

Slow is an understatement lol. That website is from the stone age 🦕

fr fr 💯 I swear it goes down every other day

Thanks for the heads up! Guess I'll grab a coffee while I wait for the page to load 😅

Make sure you report your wages every two weeks. Don't forget to include any overtime or bonuses. And ALWAYS keep copies of everything you submit. Trust me, you'll thank me later if there's ever a discrepancy.

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Been trying to report my wages for days but keep getting error messages. Anyone else having issues with the online system?

Yep, it's been a nightmare. I finally got through by using this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool. It dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I know it sounds crazy, but after spending hours on hold myself, it was worth every penny. Saved me a ton of time and stress.

Does it really work? Seems kinda sketchy...

100% legit. I was skeptical too, but it got me through to an agent in like 30 minutes. Way better than waiting on hold all day.

Here's a detailed guide on how to report wages to EDD: 1. Log into your UI Online account 2. Click on 'Certify for Benefits' 3. Select the week(s) you're reporting for 4. Enter your gross wages (before taxes) for each week 5. Report any other income or changes in your employment status 6. Double-check all info before submitting 7. Keep a record of your submission Remember, you need to report wages for the week you earned them, not when you got paid. And always round up to the nearest dollar. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

This is super helpful, thank you so much! Quick question - what counts as 'other income'?

0 coins

Great question! 'Other income' can include things like: - Severance pay - Vacation pay - Holiday pay - Bonuses - Self-employment income - Pension payments Basically, any money you receive that's related to work should be reported. When in doubt, report it!

Don't forget about jury duty pay! Made that mistake once and had to deal with an overpayment issue. Not fun.

am i the only 1 who thinks its crazy we gotta jump thru all these hoops just to get our benefits? the whole systems a joke tbh

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible

ikr? feels like we're playing a game of 'how many roadblocks can we put up' sometimes

Pro tip: Set a reminder on your phone for every two weeks to report wages. It's easy to forget and then you're scrambling at the last minute. Been there, done that! 😅

This! 👆 Saved my butt more times than I can count

Anyone know if theres a way to report wages retroactively? I totally spaced last month and now im worried ill lose my benefits 😰

0 coins

You can still report them, but you might face a penalty. Call EDD asap and explain the situation. They're usually understanding if it's your first time.

phew, thanks! ill give em a call tomorrow

Just a heads up, EDD is implementing a new wage reporting system next month. Supposedly it'll be more user-friendly. Fingers crossed it actually works! 🤞

Oh great, another 'upgrade' 🙄 Anyone wanna bet how long before it crashes?

0 coins

I'll take that bet! My money's on it lasting a whole 2 hours before total meltdown 😂

Hey Yuki! Welcome to the EDD reporting world 😊 I just reported mine yesterday actually. One thing that really helped me was doing it early in the morning (like 6-7 AM) when the website is less crowded. Also, make sure you have your Social Security card handy - sometimes they ask for the last 4 digits for verification. The process usually takes about 10 minutes once you get logged in. Don't stress too much about it, you've got this! And definitely follow Giovanni's step-by-step guide above - it's spot on.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and the tip about reporting early in the morning! I never would have thought about timing mattering, but that makes total sense. I'll definitely try the 6-7 AM window - hopefully I can avoid the website crashes everyone's been talking about 😅 Really appreciate you taking the time to help out a newbie!

Hey Yuki! I'm pretty new to this too and just went through my first wage reporting experience last week. One thing that really saved me was having my employer's info ready (like their name, address, and phone number) because sometimes the system asks for it during the process. Also, if you work multiple jobs, you'll need to report wages from ALL of them - learned that the hard way! The good news is once you do it a few times, it becomes second nature. Good luck and don't hesitate to ask questions here - this community is super helpful! 🙂

Thank you Carmen! That's really helpful about having employer info ready - I definitely wouldn't have thought to prepare that ahead of time. And good to know about reporting ALL jobs, that could have been a costly mistake! It's so reassuring to hear from someone who just went through this recently. Makes me feel less anxious about the whole process 😊

Hey Yuki! Just wanted to add that I literally just finished reporting my wages about an hour ago. One thing that caught me off guard was that the system automatically logs you out after being idle for just 15 minutes, so make sure you have everything ready before you start! I had to re-enter everything twice because I got distracted looking for paperwork 🤦‍♀️ Also, if you get any kind of confirmation number at the end, screenshot it or write it down - it's super useful if you need to reference your submission later. You're gonna do great though, and everyone here has given you amazing advice!

Oh wow, thank you for that heads up about the 15-minute timeout! That would have definitely caught me off guard too. I'm already picturing myself scrambling to find my pay stubs while the system logs me out 😅 Great tip about screenshotting the confirmation number - I'm definitely the type to forget to write it down and then panic later. Really appreciate you sharing your fresh experience, it helps so much to hear from someone who literally just went through it!
