EDD requesting secondary medical exam - need advice on informing them about appointment
Hey everyone, I need some advice. The EDD wants me to have a secondary medical exam and I have to let them know I've made the appointment. Has anyone gone through this process before? What should I expect when I call them? Any tips on what to say or how to handle it?

I found a way to solve EDD secondary medical exam issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbaPZBNCXzU

I've been through this before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your medical documents 2. Write down the date and time of your new appointment 3. When you call, clearly state that you've scheduled the secondary exam 4. Give them the appointment details 5. Ask if there's anything else they need from you Most importantly, stay calm and be polite. The person on the other end is just doing their job. Good luck!

•This is great advice! I wish I had known this when I went through the same thing last year. It was such a headache 😫

•Quick question - do you need to bring anything specific to the secondary exam? Or is it just like a regular doctor's appointment?

•In my experience, it's pretty much like a regular appointment. But it's always a good idea to bring any relevant medical records or test results, just in case. Better safe than sorry!

Ugh, the EDD is such a pain to deal with. I've been trying to get through to them for weeks and can never reach a real person. Anyone else having this problem?

•I found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Wait, seriously? That sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho

•Idk man, paying to talk to a government agency feels wrong. Shouldn't this be free?

•I get where you're coming from, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not spending hours on hold was totally worth the cost.

Has anyone else noticed that the EDD seems to be asking for more secondary exams lately? I wonder if they've changed their policy or something.

Pro tip: if you can, try to schedule your call with EDD early in the morning. I've had better luck getting through and talking to someone who's not burnt out from a long day.

Quick question - does anyone know if theres a time limit on how soon you need to schedule the secondary exam after they request it? I cant find any clear info on the EDD website

•I think its like 30 days or something? But don't quote me on that lol

•Pretty sure there's no official time limit, but they can suspend your benefits if you take too long. Best to do it ASAP.
