EDD SDI payment delay: No response after submitting verification paperwork. Advice needed.
I'm at my wits end with EDD. It's been over a month since my last payment and I'm getting radio silence. I sent in some paperwork they asked for about 10 days ago to verify I'm still injured, but haven't heard a peep. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on how to get through to them or speed things up? I've got a doctor's appointment coming up and I'm hoping that'll help, but I'm worried about making ends meet in the meantime.

Make sure you keep ALL your paperwork organized. I mean everything - doctor's notes, forms you've sent, dates you called. It'll save your butt if they try to say they never got something.

Absolutely! Organization is key. Even take screenshots of online submissions if you can.

Have you tried reaching out on Twitter? I know it sounds weird, but I've seen people get responses that way. Worth a shot maybe?

Social media can sometimes be surprisingly effective for getting a response. Just be sure to keep your personal info private.

Dealing with EDD can really test your patience, but there are some tools and tricks that can help you navigate it. Claimyr, the service mentioned by another commenter, can indeed be effective for some users. It connects people to EDD by dialing for you, avoiding the endless hold times. However, it's important to keep in mind that it's a paid service and might not fit everyone's budget. Balancing this, there are numerous free resources, like community forums and direct contacts through your state representative's office that can provide assistance. Maintaining a proactive approach by diligently documenting all interactions, double-checking all online communications, and exploring alternative contact methods like social media can also yield results. Above all, persistence combined with strategic steps can eventually lead to progress, although the process may be frustrating. Additionally, ensuring self-care during this stressful time is equally important to maintain your well-being.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update stuff there before they bother to tell you. Also, double check your spam folder. EDD emails love to hide in there 🙄

Good idea, I'll check my spam. Didn't even think of that!

Omg yes the spam folder! I missed a whole ass interview cuz their email went to spam. Now I'm paranoid and check it like 5 times a day 😅

Ugh, I feel you. EDD is a nightmare rn. I was in the same boat last month. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

Yeah, I've tried calling but it's impossible to get through. Always busy or they hang up on me. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better.

Another tip: sometimes calling on a less busy day like Wednesday can help. Not guaranteed, but worth a try!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Every call, every piece of mail, every online update. Keep a log. 2. After your doctor's appointment, immediately fax (yes, fax) any new medical info to EDD. Call to confirm they received it. 3. If you haven't heard back in 5 business days after sending docs, start calling daily. 4. If you still can't get through, contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes work miracles with EDD. 5. Consider filing a formal complaint if it goes on much longer. Sometimes that lights a fire under them. Remember, persistence is key. Don't let up. Good luck!

Yes, and a formal complaint really does get their attention sometimes. It's worth considering if you're truly stuck.

Hey, just a heads up - make sure you're still certifying for benefits even if you're not getting paid. I made that mistake and it caused a whole new headache. Keep jumping through those hoops!

For real. It's almost like they hope we'll just give up and go away. Not gonna happen tho 😤

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Wait, what? You have to PAY to talk to EDD now? That's messed up.

I get the skepticism, but it's not EDD charging. It's a third-party service. And yeah, it sucks to pay, but after wasting hours trying to get through, it was worth it for me. Just sharing what worked 🤷♂️
