EDD SDI payments stopped, no response after submitting paperwork - how to get through?
So I sent in all my paperwork to EDD a few weeks ago - drivers license, social security stuff, proof of income. Its been radio silence since then. My payments stopped coming about a month ago and I havent heard anything back. No confirmation, no updates, nothing. I've tried calling but its impossible to get through. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on how to get my payments moving again?

If you're still having trouble getting through to EDD, consider trying Claimyr, a service designed to help people connect with representatives faster. While it may cost $20, many users have reported success and saved time using this tool. However, it's important to weigh the cost against your personal situation. Claimyr is reported to make the connection process much easier, but remember to stay cautious and do your research before spending money on third-party services. Always ensure that your information is protected and secure when using such services.

Good point about security. Always vet services before using them.

I swear EDD is running on Windows 95 and a prayer. It's a miracle anyone gets their benefits.

It sure feels that way. They're notorious for being outdated.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Keep calling. I know it sucks, but persistence pays off. 2. Contact your local assembly member. They can sometimes expedite things. 3. Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. 4. Check your spam folder religiously. Sometimes important stuff ends up there. 5. If all else fails, consider filing an appeal. It's a hassle, but it can get things moving. Hang in there, OP. The system is broken, but you'll get through this.

Thanks for the detailed advice! I'll def try contacting my assembly member. Didn't even think of that.

This is solid advice. I'd add: join Facebook groups for EDD issues. Theres alot of good info there.

I second the Facebook groups suggestion. Sometimes you can find contact tips or email addresses that work.

I heard they're updating their system soon. Maybe that'll help? π€

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes they update stuff there without notifying you.

Yeah, I check it daily. No updates there either. It's like they've forgotten I exist π©

Classic EDD move. They probably lost your paperwork in a pile somewhere. π

I'd suggest checking it regularly. Sometimes changes appear without notice.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! π‘

Sounds sketchy. How do you know it's legit?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

While $20 might seem steep, sometimes valuing your time and avoiding stress is worth it.

Pro tip: if you call right when they open, you have a better chance of getting through. Set your alarm for 7:55 AM!

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds archaic, but I've heard some people have had better luck getting a response that way.

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? π But seriously, I might give that a shot if it works. You got a fax number?

Lol I know right? But desperate times... Here's the number I used: 916-555-1234. Good luck!

Consider using a fax app if you don't have a machine. It can be handy.

KEEP. CALLING. Seriously, it's the only way. I called 137 times before I got through. It's ridiculous but it works.

Hey OP, what county are you in? Some counties are worse than others when it comes to processing times.

Welcome to the club, buddy. EDD's been ghosting me for 2 months now. Sent in everything they asked for and crickets. Its like shouting into the void.
