EDD Login Error: ID Used by Another Account - What to Do?
Hey everyone, I'm having a weird issue with my unemployment account. When I try to log in, it says my ID is being used by another account. Has anyone else run into this problem? I'm freaking out because I really need to access my benefits. Any advice on what to do?

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time.

$20 to actually talk to someone? EDD is such a joke π€‘

How does it work exactly? Do they give you a specific time to expect the call?

@profile 7 You pay, then they start calling right away. When an agent picks up, they connect you. Usually takes 30-60 mins.

Iβve used Claimyr too. Itβs a bit of an investment, but can be a real lifesaver if you're in a bind.

Ugh, that sucks! I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling EDD? Be prepared to wait on hold for hours tho π

I totally agree. It's like learning patience at another level with EDD. The hold times are unreal!

Not to be that guy, but have you tried logging in with a different browser? Sometimes clearing your cache and cookies can help too. It's a long shot, but worth a try before going through the hell of calling EDD.

I actually haven't tried that yet. I'll give it a shot, thanks!

Hey OP, I know you're under a lot of stress. It's important to take a breath and know you're not alone. Reach out to EDD, but also keep in mind organizations like Claimyr can help reduce the stress of getting through to a human. That being said, always be cautious when using third-party services. Verify their legitimacy and whether the cost is worth it for you. Additionally, definitely consider freezing your credit and checking for any unauthorized activity on your accounts. Identity theft can have far-reaching impacts, and it's better to be safe than sorry. Hang in there, and remember that persistence is key in situations like this. Good luck!

Has anyone tried the new EDD virtual assistant? I heard it's supposed to help with account issues but idk if it actually works

I tried it. It's useless for anything beyond basic questions. Just another way for EDD to avoid talking to us π

This happened to me too! It turned out someone had stolen my identity and filed a claim using my info. You need to report this ASAP.

It was a nightmare tbh. I had to file a police report, contact EDD fraud department, and freeze my credit. Took months to sort out.

guys i think we're all missing the real solution here. we need to build a time machine, go back to 2019, and warn everyone about the impending doom of EDD's systems π°οΈπ

Hey OP, just a heads up - if you do end up calling EDD, make sure you have plenty of snacks and entertainment ready. I once waited on hold for 6 hours straight. It was like running a marathon, but for your ears πββοΈπ§

Here's what you need to do: 1. Don't panic! This is more common than you think. 2. Gather all your EDD documents and personal ID. 3. Call EDD immediately. Be persistent, you might need to try multiple times. 4. Explain the situation clearly and ask them to verify your identity. 5. If it's identity theft, file a police report and contact EDD's fraud department. 6. Document everything! Keep a record of all calls and correspondence. 7. Consider placing a freeze on your credit as a precaution. 8. Be patient. Unfortunately, resolving this can take time. Remember, you're not alone in this. The system is overwhelmed, but keep pushing!

This is solid advice. I'd add: check if your state has an EDD subreddit or Facebook group. Those can be goldmines for info.

And, if possible, contact your state representative. They sometimes can expedite the process.
