EDD Disability Check Missing - Need Help ASAP!
Hey everyone, I'm freaking out a little bit here. I didn't get my last disability check and I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else had this problem recently? I'm worried about paying my bills and I can't seem to get through to anyone at the EDD office. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I'm sorry you're dealing with this. It's so frustrating when the checks don't come on time. Have you tried checking your claim status online? Sometimes there's info there that can help.

Yeah, I checked online but it just says my claim is still active. No explanation for the missing payment 😞

That sucks. Maybe try calling first thing in the morning? I've heard that's when the lines are least busy.

I'll give that a shot. Thanks for the tip!

This happened to me last month! Turns out there was a glitch in their system and a bunch of payments got delayed. It took about a week, but the money eventually showed up in my account. Hang in there!

Have you checked your mail carefully? Sometimes they send notices about payment issues or additional info they need. I almost missed one of these once and it was buried in a pile of junk mail.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting so much time trying to get through on my own.

This whole system is so broken. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get the benefits we're entitled to. It's ridiculous! 😤

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down the dates of your last payment, when you noticed the missing check, and any attempts to contact EDD. 2. Check your online account for any messages or notices you might have missed. 3. Try calling the EDD first thing in the morning (8:00 AM) when they open. Be persistent. 4. If you can't get through by phone, send a secure message through your online account. Be clear and concise about the issue. 5. Consider reaching out to your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. 6. If you're in dire financial straits, look into local emergency assistance programs. Many counties have short-term help available. 7. Keep certifying for benefits even if you're missing a payment. This keeps your claim active. Remember, you're not alone in this. The system can be frustrating, but don't give up. Your benefits are your right, and persistence usually pays off. Good luck!

Faxing? In 2023? 😂 But hey, if it works, it works. I'll give it a try. Do you have the fax number?

Just a heads up, there's been a lot of scams going around lately targeting people with EDD issues. Be careful about sharing personal info or paying for services that seem too good to be true. Always double check you're dealing with official EDD channels.
