EDD Benefits Calculation: How to Actually Reach a Human?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get in touch with someone about my benefits calculation. Has anyone had any luck getting through to a real person? I've been trying for days and keep getting stuck in automated menus. Any tips or tricks would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to reach them for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to a human being. 🤦♂️

Tried that too. No dice. 😞 This system is seriously broken

I actually found a way to get through! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when a real person picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but honestly, after wasting hours trying to get through, it was worth it for me. Saved me so much time and frustration

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it seems hopeless. 2. Try calling at off-peak hours, like right before they close. 3. Have all your info ready before you call. They might ask for your SSN, claim number, etc. 4. Be polite but firm. The person on the other end is probably overwhelmed too. 5. If you get disconnected, don't give up. Call back immediately. 6. Consider reaching out to your local representative. They sometimes can help push things along. Hope this helps someone! We're all in this together. 💪

Great advice! I'd add: keep a log of all your calls (date, time, who you spoke to if you get through). It can help if you need to escalate later.

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get basic info about our benefits? The whole system needs an overhaul smh

Pro tip: if you do manage to get through, ask for a direct number or extension for follow-up questions. Sometimes they'll give you one and it can save you from starting over next time
