EDD: Impossible to check benefits, stuck on hold forever. Any tips to actually talk to someone?

Hey everyone, I've been trying to check my benefits but I keep getting stuck on hold forever. Anyone else having this problem? It's so frustrating, I've been calling all day and can't get through to a real person. Any tips on how to actually talk to someone about my benefits?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been dealing with the same issue for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits šŸ™„

Seriously! It's like they're purposely making it difficult. I've tried calling at different times of the day, but no luck.

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Yeah, I've tried that too. Still no luck. It's so frustrating!

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

Idk man, paying to talk to someone about benefits seems sketchy. Are you sure it's legit?

I get the skepticism, but I promise it's legit. I was desperate and decided to give it a shot. Saved me hours of frustration.

Can you explain more about how it works? Do they just keep calling until they get through?

Yeah, basically their system keeps dialing and navigating the phone menu. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone. You don't have to do anything until you're connected.

Here's what I've learned after months of dealing with this: ā€¢ Call early in the morning, right when they open ā€¢ If you get a busy signal, hang up and immediately redial ā€¢ Keep trying throughout the day, sometimes mid-afternoon is less busy ā€¢ Be prepared with all your info when you finally get through ā€¢ If you get disconnected, try to call back immediately It's a pain, but persistence is key. Don't give up!

This is great advice! I'd add that Tuesdays and Wednesdays seem to be less busy in my experience.

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to check our benefits? The system is broken af šŸ˜¤

Preach! šŸ™Œ It's like they're trying to discourage us from claiming what we're entitled to.

Fr fr. We need to start complaining to our representatives about this. It's not okay.

Has anyone tried using the online portal? I know it's not great, but sometimes you can get basic info without having to call.

I've been dealing with this for 3 months now. Lost my job due to COVID, and now I can't even get basic info about my benefits. The stress is killing me.

Pro tip: if you have a friend or family member who speaks another language, try the non-English phone lines. They often have shorter wait times.

Woah, never thought of that! Gonna ask my Spanish-speaking neighbor for help. Thanks!
