EDD Automatic Payments Suddenly Stopped with 2 Months Left - What to Do?
Has anyone else had their benefit payments suddenly stop without warning? I'm on automatic payments and I still have 2 more months left, but the money just stopped coming. I'm so confused and worried. What should I do?

Ugh, that sucks! I had something similar happen to me last year. Have you tried logging into your account to see if there's any messages or notices? Sometimes they don't actually notify you when there's a problem 🙄

I checked my account but there's nothing there. No messages, no updates, nada. It's like they just forgot about me 😫

Classic government efficiency at work 🤡 They probably "lost" your paperwork or something

Oof, that's rough. Might be time to start calling them... brace yourself for hours on hold tho 📞💀

This happened to me too! Turns out there was a glitch in their system that flagged a bunch of accounts for review. I had to call and speak to someone to get it sorted out. It took forever to get through, but once I did, they fixed it pretty quick.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting for hours. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? 🤔

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate after trying to call for days. It saved me so much time and frustration.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous, we shouldn't have to pay for basic customer service 😤

I get where you're coming from, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I wasted way more than $20 worth of time trying to get through on my own.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down when your last payment was, when you noticed the stoppage, and any communication you've had with them. 2. Check your eligibility. Make sure nothing has changed that would affect your benefits. 3. Try to contact them through multiple channels - phone, email, and their online portal if they have one. 4. If you can't get through, consider reaching out to your local representative. They often have contacts in these departments and can help push things along. 5. Keep certifying for benefits even if you're not receiving payments. This will help ensure you get backpay once the issue is resolved. 6. If you're in dire financial straits, look into local assistance programs that might be able to help in the meantime. Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but persistence usually pays off.

This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of every call you make, including date, time, and who you spoke to (if anyone). It can help if you need to escalate later.

Preach! 🙌 It's like they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits

Fr fr. We pay into this system our whole working lives and then when we need it, it's nothing but obstacles 🤦♂️

Have you checked if there's been any recent policy changes? Sometimes they implement new rules and don't communicate them well. Might be worth googling to see if anything's changed recently.

This is why I always tell people to save some of their benefits as an emergency fund if possible. You never know when the bureaucracy is gonna throw you a curveball 😓
