EDD payment 2+ weeks late, on auto-pay. What's going on?

Hey everyone, I'm getting worried about my unemployment payment. It's been over two weeks since my last payment date and I still haven't received anything. I'm on automatic payments and it should have come through last Wednesday. Has anyone else experienced delays like this? Any ideas on what could be causing it or what I should do next?

I found a way to solve delayed unemployment payment issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqLJi_xthbc

Ugh, I feel ya. The EDD system is such a mess rn. Have you tried checking your account online? Sometimes there's info there that doesn't come through other ways.

Yeah, I've been checking my account like crazy. No updates or messages there either. It's so frustrating!

Calling them is like trying to win the lottery these days. But I guess I might have to try...

I had a similar issue last month. Turns out there was a glitch in their system affecting a bunch of people. It eventually got sorted out, but it took about 3 weeks. Hang in there!

Have you checked if there's been any changes to your claim status? Sometimes they put a hold on payments for random "eligibility reviews" without telling you 🙄

Oh man, I didn't even think of that. How would I know if there's a hold?

Usually it shows up in your online account under "Claim Status" or something like that. But honestly, with EDD, who knows? Their communication is terrible.

Okay, so here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check your payment history online. Make sure there's no discrepancy between what you're expecting and what's recorded. 2. Look for any new messages or alerts in your EDD account. They sometimes send important info there without notifying you. 3. If you certified for benefits recently, verify that it went through correctly. 4. Check your bank account details are still correct in the system. 5. If all else fails, you're gonna have to contact them. I know it's a pain, but it's better than waiting indefinitely. Pro tip: I found a way to actually get through to a real person. There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that dials the phone menu, waits on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me days of frustration. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Wow, that's actually really helpful. Have you used this Claimyr thing yourself? Sounds almost too good to be true.

Yep, I've used it twice now. Saved me hours of hold time. It's legit, but yeah, the $20 fee kinda sucks. Still worth it imo when you're desperate to talk to someone.

Idk man, paying to get basic customer service seems sketchy. Shouldn't this be free?

I get where you're coming from, but when you're missing payments and can't get through, that $20 can save you a lot of stress and potentially thousands in late bills. It's not ideal, but it works.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things through with EDD.

I didn't know that was an option! How do I find my assembly member?

Just google "[your city] assembly member". Their office usually has a form or email for EDD issues. They've helped a lot of ppl I know!
