EDD Appeal Decision: No Documentation, What to Expect?

Hey everyone, I'm dealing with an appeal decision for my unemployment claim. I filed an appeal but I don't have any documentation or notices about why the full amount wasn't paid. Has anyone been through this before? What should I expect? Any advice on how to handle this situation would be really appreciated.

I found a way to solve EDD unemployment appeal delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBQ1EB80R8o

Ugh, been there done that. The EDD system is such a mess. When did you file your appeal? It can take forever to hear back from them.

I filed it about 3 weeks ago. Still waiting to hear anything back. Its so frustrating!

3 weeks? Buckle up, buddy. I waited 2 months before I got any response. The waiting game is real 😩

Same boat here. took me 10 weeks to get a response. EDD is slower than molasses in January 🐌

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your employment records for the past 18 months 2. Write a detailed statement explaining why you believe you're eligible for the full amount 3. If you have any witnesses or additional evidence, include that too 4. Be prepared for a hearing - they might schedule one 5. Keep calling EDD regularly for updates (I know, it sucks) Most importantly, don't give up! The system is designed to wear you down, but stay persistent. Good luck!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start gathering all my records. Do you know how long the whole process usually takes?

It can vary wildly, unfortunately. I've seen cases resolved in 6 weeks, others drag on for 6 months. Just keep pushing and don't let them forget about you!

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imho

I tried it too. Can confirm it works. Felt like I found a cheat code for the EDD game lol 🎮

have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member? They can sometimes help speed things up with EDD. Worth a shot!

OMG the EDD is such a joke. I swear they deny claims hoping people will just give up. Stay strong OP! 💪

Preach! 🙌 The whole system needs an overhaul. It's like they're stuck in the 1980s or smthn

Quick question - did you receive any kind of confirmation when you filed your appeal? Might be worth double-checking that they actually received it.

You know what, I'm not 100% sure. I'll have to go back and check my emails. Thanks for bringing that up!
