Deposit missing since Friday, bank says no record. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with a deposit that was supposed to hit my account last Friday. It's now Monday and still nothing. I called my bank and they said they don't have any record of an incoming deposit. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do next?

I found a way to solve missing bank deposit issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRV6agC4qlU

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there before. Have you tried contacting the sender to see if they actually sent the money? Sometimes there's a delay on their end.

•Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give them a call and see what's up. Fingers crossed it's just a processing delay 🤞

•Good idea! Also, check if you gave them the correct account info. I once had a similar issue and realized I'd given them my old account number 🤦♂️

This happened to me last month! Turns out there was a glitch in the system and a bunch of deposits were delayed. It took about 3 business days to sort out. Hang in there!

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes deposit notifications end up there. Also, double-check the date they said it would be deposited. I've mixed up dates before and panicked for no reason lol

•Good point about the spam folder, I'll take a look. And yeah, I'm pretty sure about the date, but I'll double-check just in case. Thanks!

I know its frustrating, but sometimes these things take time. If it doesn't show up by Wednesday, I'd start raising hell with both the sender and your bank. Don't let them give you the runaround!

•Agreed! And make sure to document all your calls and who you spoke with. It'll help if you need to escalate the issue later.

Hey, I found a method to get someone on the phone quickly when dealing with these issues. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. These companies should have better customer service!

•I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes your time is worth more than the $20, you know? 🤷♂️

Here's what I would do in your situation: 1. Contact the sender immediately to confirm the transfer was initiated. 2. Ask for a transaction ID or confirmation number from the sender. 3. Call your bank again with this information and ask them to trace the transfer. 4. If the bank still can't find it, ask to speak with the ACH department specifically. 5. Check if there were any bank holidays that might have delayed processing. 6. Verify all account details (routing number, account number) with both parties. 7. If it's a government payment, check the official website for any announced delays. 8. Keep a log of all communications, including names, dates, and reference numbers. 9. If it's not resolved within 3-5 business days, consider filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Remember, most issues like this get resolved within a few days, but it's important to stay on top of it. Good luck!

•Preach! 👏 Sometimes I think they just sit on our money to make extra interest or something.

Have you considered switching banks? I had constant issues with my old bank, but since I switched to [redacted], I haven't had a single problem with deposits or transfers.

This is so stressful when you're depending on that money! I went through something similar a few months ago. In my case, it turned out the deposit was actually processed but got held up in my bank's fraud detection system because it was a larger amount than usual. They never notified me about it being flagged. I only found out when I went to a branch in person and asked them to check all pending transactions, not just completed ones. Might be worth asking specifically about any holds or flags on your account. Hope you get it sorted out soon!

•Oh wow, that's really helpful to know! I never would have thought about fraud detection holding it up. I'll definitely ask about any pending transactions or holds when I call them back. Thanks for sharing your experience - it gives me hope that there's a logical explanation for this mess!

I had a similar issue last year with my disability payments! In my case, it turned out the EDD had an address mismatch in their system that was causing deposits to get rejected by my bank, but neither side was communicating this properly. I had to call EDD directly and verify all my banking information was correct in their system. It took about a week to resolve, but once they updated everything, the missing deposit showed up along with the current one. Definitely check with EDD to make sure they have the right account details on file - sometimes the issue isn't with your bank at all!

•That's such a good point about checking with EDD directly! I always assume it's the bank's fault, but you're right that the issue could be on the sender's side. Did you have to provide any specific documentation to get them to update your banking info, or was it just a matter of confirming the details over the phone?

This exact thing happened to me about 6 months ago! Turned out my bank had updated their ACH processing system and some deposits were getting stuck in a queue without any notification. The frustrating part was that the first customer service rep I talked to didn't know about the system issues, so they just told me there was no record. I had to call back three times before I got someone who actually looked deeper into it. My advice would be to call your bank again and specifically ask them to check for any ACH holds, pending transactions, or system delays - don't just accept "no record" as the final answer. Also, if it's an EDD payment, they sometimes batch process on different days than expected, especially around holidays. Hang in there, it'll likely show up in the next day or two! 🤞
