IRS Direct Deposit approved but not showing up in my bank account - what's going on?

this is right. i work at a bank and we dont usually see deposits until they actually hit. the irs is weird like that, not like regular direct deposits that show as pending.

My deposit showed up exactly on the date they said. Not a day early, not a day late. I think the IRS is pretty tight with their scheduled releases.

Exactly this. I used to work at a credit union and we would get these calls constantly. The IRS releases it ON the date, then it depends on your bank's processing time.

I used FreeTaxUSA this year. How do I check my transcript? The WMR tool just shows approved with tomorrow's date.

Go to irs.gov and create an account if u don't have one. Then u can access ur transcript which will show all the codes and dates. It's way more detailed than WMR. If u have trouble understanding the codes and dates, there's a tool called taxr.ai that can interpret everything for u.

Those transcripts look like they're written in alien language tho 👽 I tried reading mine and just got a headache

Lol yeah but they were useless. Just read from a script and told me to wait. Couldn't even check if there was actually a problem with my deposit.

Try claimyr.com next time. Got me through to an agent in less than an hour when I had a similar issue. Agent was actually able to look at my specific account and fix the hold on my refund.

That makes me feel better. My bank is pretty small so maybe that's why they don't see anything pending. I'll try to be patient.

100% this ⬆️ I've gotten refunds for 15 years and they almost always show up 1-2 days after the "deposit date" the IRS gives.

It was a nightmare. Called the IRS like 50 times and couldn't get through. Finally used Claimyr.com to get a callback and the agent had to initiate a trace on the payment. Eventually got a paper check but it took forever. If your info is correct though you should be fine.

Lol I know right? I had to google every single code. There's this tool called taxr.ai that will read your transcript and explain everything in normal english. That's how I figured out what was happening with mine.

Same here! Filed in February and still nothing. Called every week and can't even get through. This country's tax system is a disgrace.

have you tried using taxr.ai? it helped me figure out why my return was stuck in processing for months. turns out there was an income verification issue i had no idea about.

Can confirm. I use Chime and they also post government deposits early sometimes. Got mine 2 days before the IRS date.

be careful with those online banks tho... my cousin had his account frozen for 3 weeks when he got his tax refund because it triggered some fraud alert
