4 weeks, no money from EDD claim. All bills unpaid. What can I do?
Its been 4 weeks since I filed my claim and I still haven't received any money. All my bills are unpaid and I'm really struggling. Has anyone else experienced such a long wait? What can I do to speed up the process or at least get some information on the status of my claim?

I feel you, OP. I was in the same boat a few months ago. It took almost 6 weeks for my claim to go through. The system is so backed up right now, its ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? That's what finally worked for me.

I've been trying to call but I can never get through. It's so frustrating. How many times did you have to call before you got someone on the line?

Ugh, I know that struggle. I must've called like 50 times before I got through. It's a total crapshoot. Keep trying tho, eventually you'll get lucky!

50 times? That's insane! There's gotta be a better way. Has anyone tried emailing or using their online portal?

4 weeks is actually not that bad compared to some stories I've heard. Some people have been waiting for months! The system is completely overwhelmed. Have you checked your online account for any updates or messages?

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I know it sounds crazy, but it really did work for me. After weeks of trying to get through, I was desperate. The $20 was worth it to finally talk to someone and get my claim sorted.

How long did you have to wait once the service connected you? Did they actually help resolve your issue?

I only waited about 5 minutes after it connected me. And yes, they were able to push my claim through. It was such a relief!

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research: • First, make sure all your information is correct in your online account. Any small error can cause delays. • If you haven't already, upload any additional documents they might need (ID verification, proof of income, etc.) • Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. This can be useful if you need to escalate your case. • Consider reaching out to your local state representative. They sometimes can help push claims through. • If you're in dire financial straits, look into local food banks and assistance programs. They might be able to help while you wait. • Finally, don't give up. It's a frustrating process, but persistence usually pays off eventually. Hang in there, OP. I know it's tough, but you're not alone in this struggle.

This is great advice! I'd add that if you do get through on the phone, be super nice to the rep. They're dealing with angry people all day and being kind can go a long way.

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But for real, if it works, it works. Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess.

This whole system is a joke. They expect us to survive for weeks or months with no income? And then they wonder why people are angry and frustrated. Something needs to change.

Preach! 🙌 The government needs to get its act together. We're not asking for handouts, just what we're owed!

I hear ya, but let's not forget the system is dealing with unprecedented numbers. It sucks, but they're probably doing their best.

Their 'best' isn't good enough when people are losing their homes and going hungry. There's no excuse for this level of incompetence.
