Will my CalWORKs Cash Aid deposit on time after submitting SAR online? Shows active but no pending deposit
Super stressed right now! I just submitted my SAR7 report online today through BenefitsCal (we usually do it by mail but the worker said online is faster). My Cash Aid normally hits my card on the 1st, which is in two days. When I check my account status, it shows everyone in my household as "green active" for both CalWORKs and CalFresh, and there's a message saying "you have nothing to do at this time." But I'm freaking out because I just checked my EBT card balance by phone and there's no pending deposit showing up! Has anyone experienced this? Will my benefits still process in time since I submitted the SAR so close to the payment date? My rent is due on the 3rd and I NEED that Cash Aid to hit on time like it usually does.

Oh thank you so much! Yes I uploaded all the pay stubs and rent receipt with it. This makes me feel better. I was just worried because the worker made such a big deal about making sure I submitted it on time this month.

The online SAR7 submission is actually processed faster than paper forms in most counties. Since your account is showing \

yeah this 100%. only time to worry is if status changes to pending or discontinued. active means ur already approved for the next month

Thank you all! This community is amazing. I just checked again and it still says active so I'm feeling much better now.

When I had issues with my SAR processing and needed to reach my worker quickly, I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to a live person at my county office. They connected me directly to a caseworker in about 10 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. Their video demo shows how it works: https://youtu.be/jzISHxCPLwEBut honestly, if your account shows active status, you should be fine. The pending deposits rarely show up until very late the night before payment day.

Wait has anyone else used this Claimyr thing? I've been trying to reach my worker for WEEKS about my Welfare to Work hours and keep getting voicemail. Does it really work? I'm desperate at this point.

Yes it worked for me when I had that SAR processing issue. I was skeptical too but I was able to talk to an actual person instead of the automated system. The worker confirmed my benefits were still coming even though the system hadn't updated yet.

Exactly! My landlord is already mad that I'm paying on the 3rd instead of the 1st. If it's late I'm screwed.

did u do the income reporting thing? sometimes u have to report income before benefits come thru

Yes I included all our pay stubs with the SAR7 report. Everything was under the Income Reporting Threshold (IRT) so there shouldn't be any changes to our amount.

Just wanted to add - for future reference, try to submit your SAR7 by the 5th of your SAR month if possible, rather than waiting until the deadline. This gives the county plenty of time to process it and reduces the chance of payment delays. Online submission through BenefitsCal is definitely faster than mail, but even online submissions need time to be reviewed by an actual worker. Also, if you ever don't receive your Cash Aid on the expected date, call the county office first thing that morning. If there was a processing issue, they can often resolve it same-day if you catch it early.

Thank you for the advice. I usually try to get it in earlier but had some issues getting my boss to give me my pay stubs this month. Next time I'll definitely submit earlier!

UPDATE: My Cash Aid just hit my account this morning right on schedule! Thanks everyone for calming me down. You were all right - just because the pending deposit wasn't showing doesn't mean it wasn't going to come through on time.

Great news! This is very typical - the system updates overnight and payments process early morning on the scheduled date. Glad everything worked out!
