Need San Bernardino County SAR 7 direct phone number - can't reach worker for CalWORKs renewal

Anyone know if there's a separate phone number just for SAR 7 stuff in San Bernardino County? My renewal is due next week and I've been calling the main CalWORKs number for 3 days straight but keep getting disconnected or put on hold forever. I swear last year someone told me there was a direct line just for SAR 7 questions and submissions, but I lost it. My benefits will get cut if I don't get this handled ASAP! Really don't want my kids to lose their Cash Aid because I can't get through to a human being.

San Bernardino County has a dedicated SAR 7 Hotline at (877) 410-8829. It's specifically for processing SAR 7 forms and questions. Much faster than the main line! But FYI, you can also now submit your SAR 7 online through BenefitsCal.com if you have an account set up. Might be easier than trying to reach someone by phone.

THANK YOU!!! gonna try calling right now. I tried the BenefitsCal website but it kept giving me error messages when I tried to upload my pay stubs. So frustrating.

Try using Claimyr.com - it's the only way I've been able to reach SB County workers without waiting for hours. They'll call the county for you and then call you back when they get a real person on the line. Saved me from losing my benefits twice now when I couldn't get through. They have a video that explains how it works: https://youtu.be/jzISHxCPLwE

How does that even work? Do they just sit on hold for you?

I had the same problem last month! The number the other person posted is right, but honestly it still took me forever to get through. What worked for me was calling right when they open at 8:00am. If you wait until later in the day you'll NEVER get anyone. Also make sure your SAR 7 is filled out completely - they'll reject it for the smallest mistake and then you'll have to start all over again trying to reach them.

This is correct. Another tip: if you can physically drop off your SAR 7 at a county office, do that instead. They have to give you a receipt showing you submitted it on time, which protects you from discontinuance even if they process it late. Always get proof of submission!

I don't have a fax machine though. Does anyone know if I can still go in person to an office? I thought everything was appointment only now?

San Bernardino County is THE WORST when it comes to answering phones!!! I've been on CalWORKs for 2 years and I've never ONCE gotten through on my first try. It's like they want us to lose benefits so they don't have to pay us. My worker never returns calls either. The whole system is designed to make you give up!!!

Same experience here. When I finally got through last time, they told me my case was actually closed because I didn't respond to some notice they sent that I NEVER received. Took 3 weeks to get my benefits back on. Keep calling and document EVERYTHING.

In addition to the SAR 7 Hotline mentioned above, here are a few other options for San Bernardino County: 1. You can drop off your SAR 7 at any TAD office without an appointment - just ask for a receipt 2. You can mail it with tracking/delivery confirmation 3. You can upload it through BenefitsCal (if the site is working for you) 4. You can email it to C4Yourself@hss.sbcounty.gov (but get confirmation it was received) Don't wait until the last minute with SAR 7s - if there's any issue with your form, you'll need time to correct it before the deadline. The county has to receive a COMPLETE SAR 7, not just any submission, to continue your benefits.

Thank you for all the options! I didn't know about the email address. If I still can't get through on the phone today I'll try dropping it off in person. Do you know which TAD office would be fastest? I'm in Fontana area.

The Fontana TAD office at 7977 Sierra Ave is probably closest to you. They're usually less busy than the San Bernardino main office. But go early - sometimes they have lines in the morning.

I actually used that Claimyr service someone mentioned last time I was desperate to reach SB County. It actually worked! They called me back when they had a worker on the line. Cost money but worth it when you're about to lose benefits. The county system is broken.

Might try that as a last resort if I can't get this resolved today. Did they get you through to the right department?

Yes they got me to a real CalWORKs worker who could actually help - not just the front desk people. Explained I needed to talk to someone about my SAR 7 and they connected me to the right person.
