When will P-EBT 3.0 cards for toddlers get reloaded in 2025? Help needed!
Just got P-EBT 3.0 cards for my little ones (1 and 2 years old) in the mail last week! I activated them both and they each had about $120 loaded. First time getting these for the kids and I'm not sure when they're supposed to get more benefits added. Tried checking the P-EBT website but it's super confusing and doesn't have clear dates for toddlers. Does anyone know the reload schedule for 2025? Or where I can find this info? Their daycare participates in some food program which is why we qualified, I think. Not sure if that affects the payment schedule. Any help would be appreciated!

my 3 kids got theirs too! the P-EBT customer service # is useless, waited 2 hrs yesterday n got disconnected. i heard from another mom that toddlers get loaded every other month (Feb-Apr-Jun-Aug) but I'm not 100% sure that's right? also wonder if the amount changes depending on how many days they attend

•Ugh that's so frustrating! Did your kids also get around $120 each? I'm wondering if it's the same for everyone. Every other month would make sense but I wish they'd just tell us clearly.

The P-EBT 3.0 program for children under 6 has a different issuance schedule than school-aged children. For 2025, benefits for toddlers enrolled in qualifying daycare programs should be loaded quarterly - with the next issuance scheduled for mid-April 2025. The amount varies based on your county and the facility's participation level in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). You can check your specific issuance dates and amounts by: 1. Calling the dedicated P-EBT under-6 hotline: 1-877-328-9677 2. Checking the CDSS website: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/pebt-under6 3. Requesting information directly from your daycare administrator The benefit amounts typically range from $65-$145 per month depending on factors like attendance and program participation level. Keep your cards active even during months with no deposits.

•Thank you so much for this detailed info! I didn't even realize there was a separate hotline for under-6 children. I'll try calling them tomorrow. My daycare never mentioned anything about this program until we suddenly got the cards.

•Lol I do the same thing with important papers 😅 And yes, I noticed they're similar to EBT but have P-EBT printed on them. Can I use them at the same stores as regular CalFresh?

hey there fellow P-EBT parent! have you checked your BenefitsCal account? sometimes the reload dates show up there. at least they did for my school-age kids during COVID. also, my toddler's card got another deposit (about $95) just yesterday with no notification, so maybe check your balance?

•Just checked both cards and still just the original amounts. Nothing in BenefitsCal either - I don't think these special P-EBT cards show up in the regular system. Strange that your toddler got another deposit already! Maybe they're rolling them out in batches?

I work with families who receive P-EBT and can clarify a few things. The P-EBT 3.0 program for children under 6 follows a quarterly issuance schedule for 2025, with benefits covering 3-month periods. The next issuance will be mid-April, then July, and October. Importantly, these benefits aren't the same as regular CalFresh, though they work at the same retailers. The amount varies based on: - Your child's attendance rate at the CACFP-participating facility - The pandemic impact rating for your county - Whether your facility provides 1, 2, or 3 meals daily Unfortunately, the P-EBT customer service line is notoriously difficult to reach. You're not alone in your frustration with getting information.

•This explains so much, thank you! So even though I got the cards in March, I might not see additional benefits until April? That makes sense with the quarterly schedule. Do you know if there's any way to check if my kids' attendance is being properly reported to make sure they get the correct amount?

I literally spent 3 DAYS trying to get through to someone about my kids P-EBT cards!!!! The system is a JOKE!! Every time I call that number they either hang up on me or transfer me to someone who "can't help with that program" - I'm convinced nobody actually works there!!! And the website hasn't been updated since like forever. They just throw these cards at us with no instructions and expect us to figure it out!!! 😡😡😡

•I feel your frustration! Strange that they'd create a whole program but make it so difficult to get basic information about it. I'll try calling their special under-6 hotline that someone mentioned, but not getting my hopes up.

If you're having trouble reaching someone at P-EBT, you might want to try using Claimyr. It's a service that helps you get through to CalFresh and other benefit program representatives without the endless waiting. I used it last month when I couldn't get through about my kids' P-EBT cards and it worked great - they called me back when they had a representative on the line. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 It saved me hours of frustration and I actually got answers about when the next deposit would happen.

btw dont throw away the cards even when they're empty! they sometimes add money randomly months later. my sister thought her kids' cards were done after covid but then they randomly got more $ like 8 months later lol

•That's good to know! I'll definitely keep them safe. These benefit programs can be so unpredictable sometimes.

Just to clarify something I've seen causing confusion: P-EBT benefits and regular CalFresh (SNAP) are completely separate programs with different eligibility requirements and issuance schedules. P-EBT 3.0 for children under 6 is specifically for kids in CACFP-participating daycares or preschools. If you need additional food assistance for your family beyond these quarterly P-EBT benefits, you should consider applying for regular CalFresh through BenefitsCal.com, which provides monthly benefits based on household size and income.

•We actually do have regular CalFresh too! The P-EBT was just unexpected extra help. Do you know if I need to report these P-EBT cards on my next SAR7 for CalFresh? Or are they considered separate?
