Confused about P-EBT 4.0 reload for children under 6 - still waiting!

The P-EBT 4.0 for children under 6 is rolling out in phases throughout 2025, not everyone gets it at once. If your child is enrolled in CalFresh and meets the eligibility requirements, you should receive it eventually. The timeline depends on your county and when your case was processed. From what I understand, they're issuing benefits based on last name in many counties. Some counties started in March, others are just beginning now in May. You don't need to apply separately if you're already on CalFresh with a child under 6.

I've been calling the P-EBT hotline for THREE DAYS straight and can't get through!!! Always says "high call volume" then hangs up on me! My 3 kids all under 6 and we haven't received ANYTHING for P-EBT 4.0 yet. My neighbor got hers last month and we're in the same apartment building!!!! Makes NO SENSE how they decide who gets what when. We're on CalFresh too and I was told it should be automatic but WHO KNOWS with this broken system!!! Anyone else just getting disconnected when they call????

I was having the EXACT same problem trying to check on my kids' P-EBT benefits. Couldn't get through to anyone for days. They confirmed my kids were in the system and gave me the actual date our benefits would load (next Monday). Saved me so much stress! my daughter got her p-ebt last week shes 5 but my son who is 3 didnt get his yet?? make it make sense lol. i think they just pick names out of a hat honestly. also make sure u have the right card, its the special p-ebt one not regular ebt they look different

I got mine yesterday! For both my kids (3 and 5). I'm in Sacramento county if that helps. Check your old P-EBT card if you still have it.
