When is CA CalFresh adding the last emergency allotment for June 2025?
I'm confused about the CalFresh extra money this month. My caseworker mentioned something about 'final emergency allotments' coming to California EBT accounts, but I can't remember the exact date. My regular benefits loaded on the 10th like always, but I thought we were supposed to get something extra one last time? Has anyone else heard about this or already received theirs? I've got 3 kids and every bit helps with these crazy grocery prices lately.

•Those original pandemic emergency allotments did end back in 2023. What's happening now is different - California secured a special one-time additional payment due to the recent inflation surge. It's scheduled to be loaded to EBT cards between the 16th and 20th of this month (June 2025), depending on your case number. The amount varies based on household size, with families of 4+ getting the maximum supplemental amount. This isn't a permanent return to emergency allotments; it's just a one-time additional payment authorized by the state legislature in the last budget session.

•Really? I just checked after seeing your message and nothing extra showed up yet. My case number ends in 54, if that matters. Did anyone get specific info about which case numbers get loaded on which days?

To clarify for everyone, the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) is issuing a one-time Grocery Inflation Relief supplement to all active CalFresh households for June 2025. It's not technically an "emergency allotment" like during COVID, but it's similar in concept. The issuance schedule is: - Case #s ending 00-33: June 16 - Case #s ending 34-66: June 18 - Case #s ending 67-99: June 20 The amount depends on your household size, ranging from $95 for single-person households up to $375 for households of 8+ people. This is separate from your regular June benefits and will appear as "CA Inflation Relief" on your EBT transaction history.

•Thank you so much for the clear info! So with my case # ending in 54, I should see it on the 18th. That's a huge relief to know exactly when to expect it. The extra $250 for my family of 4 will really help with summer groceries when the kids are home all day.

•Your friend is correct. I work for a local food assistance nonprofit and have been in contact with CDSS about this. The Grocery Inflation Relief payment is a one-time allocation from surplus state funds approved in the March 2025 budget revision. There was discussion about quarterly payments, but that proposal didn't pass the legislature. If you're struggling with food costs, remember you can also apply for the School Meal Summer EBT program if you have school-aged children, which provides an additional $120 per eligible child for June-August.

Is anybody else FURIOUS that they're calling this EMERGENCY MONEY?? It's literally our tax dollars they're giving back to us after taking AWAY the REAL emergency allotments in 2023!!! And then they act like they're doing us a favor with this ONE TIME payment that doesn't even cover the actual inflation we've been dealing with for YEARS!!! I can't even buy half the groceries I could in 2023 with my regular benefits!!!!!

•preach!!! 👏 and they make it so hard to even talk to anyone at CalFresh about this stuff. i spent 3 hours on hold last week just trying to ask why my benefits went down $17 this month for no reason i could figure out

If anyone is struggling to get through to their county CalFresh office about this payment or any other issues, I've been recommending Claimyr to my clients. It helps you skip the long hold times when calling county benefit offices. You can see how it works in this video: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 I had a client who needed to ask about this special payment because her case had a special circumstance (recent household change), and she was able to get through to a caseworker in minutes instead of hours. Their website is claimyr.com if you want to check it out.

•Does this actually work??? I'm suspicious of ANY service claiming to help with benefits but if it really works I'm desperate at this point. Has anyone else tried this?

•i used something like this last year when my recertification was stuck in pending for 2 months and i was about to lose my apartment!!! it got me thru to someone who fixed it that same day. worth every penny compared to the stress of getting disconnected 5 times in a row on the regular line

dont forget the extra payment wont count toward your income limit or IRT! my cousin panicked thinking she had to report it on her SAR7 but its a one-time benefit so it doesnt count as income

•Oh that's good to know! My SAR7 is due next month and I was wondering about that too. So I don't need to include this on the income section at all? That's a relief.

•Correct, one-time assistance payments like this Grocery Inflation Relief supplement don't count as income for CalFresh eligibility or reporting purposes. You don't need to report it on your SAR7 or at recertification. The same applies to tax refunds, economic impact payments, and other one-time government assistance payments. Regular income from jobs, unemployment, disability, etc. still needs to be reported as usual if it exceeds your Income Reporting Threshold (IRT).

Thanks everyone for the helpful info! I checked my EBT account this morning (June 18th) and the extra $250 was loaded! The transaction shows as "CA INFLATION RELIEF PYMT" just like someone mentioned. This will help so much with my grocery budget this month. Really appreciate all the clarification about when to expect it and how it works!
