When does CalFresh reload on EBT card in San Diego with case number ending in 8?
Hi everyone, my EBT card is getting low and I need to know exactly when my CalFresh benefits will reload this month. My case number ends in 8 and I'm in San Diego County. Also wondering if CalFresh and CalWorks benefits reload on the same day? I tried checking the BenefitsCal website but it's down right now and I can't get through to my caseworker. Getting kind of anxious since I need to plan my grocery shopping and only have about $30 left on my card.

CalFresh benefits are loaded based on the last digit of your case number. Since yours ends in 8, your benefits should reload on the 8th day of each month. So if today is before the 8th, you'll get them soon! If today is after the 8th, you'll need to wait until next month. As for CalWorks, those usually come at the beginning of the month (1st through 3rd) regardless of your case number. So no, they don't reload on the same day as your CalFresh benefits.

•Thank you! Today's the 6th so I should get them in 2 days. That's a relief. Good to know about CalWorks being different too.

Actually, let me clarify something important. While CalFresh benefits do load based on the last digit of your case number (so the 8th for you), CalWorks has a DIFFERENT schedule in San Diego County specifically. For CalWorks in SD County, benefits are issued over the first 3 days of the month according to this schedule: - Last digits 1-3: 1st of month - Last digits 4-6: 2nd of month - Last digits 7-0: 3rd of month So with your case ending in 8, your CalWorks should load on the 3rd of each month, while your CalFresh loads on the 8th. This schedule can vary by county, so anyone else reading this should check their local rules.

•Wow that's really helpful info, thanks! I didn't realize the CalWorks schedule was different in SD County specifically. I must have gotten them on the 3rd but didn't notice. I'll pay better attention next month.

When the website is down, I've had luck using Claimyr to get through to a real person at San Diego County. It helped me skip the phone queue when I had a similar issue last month. Just go to claimyr.com or check their demo video at https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 to see how it works. I was able to get my benefit questions answered in minutes instead of waiting on hold for hours.

•Thanks for the tip! I might try that next time. The phone system is so frustrating - I always get disconnected after waiting forever.

I had THE EXACT same problem last month!!! The website was down for like 3 DAYS straight and I had to feed my kids! Called the EBT customer service number (not the county) and they told me when my next deposit was coming. Try 877-328-9677 - it's 24/7 and they can at least tell you your balance and next deposit date even if they can't help with case stuff.

•This is good advice. The EBT customer service number is different from the county offices. They can't change anything about your case, but they can tell you when your next deposit is scheduled and your current balance.

•She might be getting emergency CalFresh benefits, which follow a different schedule, or she could be confusing CalFresh with another benefit. The standard schedule is definitely based on the last digit of the case number. But there are exceptions for emergency issuances and first-time approvals.

One more thing to note - if the 8th falls on a weekend or holiday, your benefits should still load on that day. CalFresh deposits don't get delayed like some other government payments. Just want to make sure you know that for future months!

Hey Jayden! Just wanted to add that you can also download the "ebtEDGE" mobile app if you haven't already. It's the official EBT app and it works even when the BenefitsCal website is down. You can check your balance, see your transaction history, and it shows your next deposit date right on the main screen. Super helpful for planning grocery trips when you're running low! The app has been way more reliable than the website in my experience.
