Confused about P-EBT address change process - which phone options to select?

I just moved last month and need to update my address for P-EBT benefits. I tried calling the number on the back of my card but got lost in the automated system. Can anyone tell me which options I need to press to change my P-EBT address? Also, when they ask for my card number, should I enter my regular EBT card number or the P-EBT card? I don't want my kids to miss out on the school benefits because mail is going to our old place. Thanks in advance for any help!

i had same issue lol. P-EBT is different system from regular CalFresh EBT. you have to call the P-EBT specific number 877-328-9677 not your regular EBT number

Thank you for the quick response! So I shouldn't use the number on the back of my regular EBT card then? I'll try the P-EBT specific number.

For P-EBT address changes, you need to call the dedicated P-EBT hotline at 877-328-9677. When you call, select Option 4 for 'all other questions' and then Option 2 for 'change of address'. They'll ask for your P-EBT card number (not your regular EBT card). Make sure you have your P-EBT card handy when you call. If you don't have your P-EBT card anymore, they can look you up with the child's information, but the process takes longer. The address change can take 7-10 business days to process, so call soon to avoid missing any mailings.

Oh no, that's confusing. So should I call or try the website first? I have a BenefitsCal account but wasn't sure if P-EBT shows up there since it's school-related.

The correct process depends on which P-EBT version you're on. If it's P-EBT 4.0 (2024-2025 school year), you should update your address through your school district first, then call the P-EBT hotline at 877-328-9677 to confirm the change. You'll need your P-EBT card number (NOT regular EBT). Press option 4, then option 2 for address changes. Have had trouble reaching them lately though. Morning calls seem to work better.

Thanks for clarifying! It's for this school year, so I guess it's 4.0. I'll contact my kid's school first and then try the hotline. Appreciate the tips!

I recently helped several families with this exact issue. The correct process for P-EBT address changes in 2025: 1. Update your address with your child's school district first 2. Then call the P-EBT hotline (877-328-9677) 3. Select Option 4, then Option 2 4. You'll need your P-EBT card number (not regular EBT) Important: If you've lost your P-EBT card, you can provide your child's information instead (name, DOB, school) The system is backlogged, so many people have trouble connecting. If you keep getting disconnected, I'd recommend trying Claimyr.com - it's a service that holds your place in the phone queue and calls you back when a representative is available. Saved me hours when I was helping a family with their P-EBT issues. There's a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8

i didnt kno u could update p-ebt address seprate from regular calfresh? my kids got p-ebt last year but i moved and didnt tell school yet. does that mean they wont get new cards? or they mail to old address??

Yes, P-EBT and CalFresh address systems are separate. You should update your address with the school immediately and then call P-EBT. If cards were already mailed to your old address, you may need to request replacement cards after updating your information.

Just went through this headache last week! First, P-EBT and regular EBT are totally different systems even though the cards look similar. Update your address with: 1. Your child's school (most important) 2. P-EBT hotline (877-328-9677) When calling, I selected option 4 then option 2. Waited about 35 minutes. Definitely use the P-EBT card number when they ask, not your regular EBT. Also discovered that if you also have regular CalFresh, you need to update that address separately through your county office or BenefitsCal. The systems don't talk to each other which is so frustrating!

Thank you so much! I'll definitely update with the school first. I do have regular CalFresh too, so I'll make sure to update both systems. Appreciate everyone's help!

If you lost the P-EBT cards, call the same hotline (877-328-9677) but select the option for lost/stolen card instead. They'll ask for your children's information (name, DOB, school) to look up the accounts. They can issue replacement cards to your updated address.
