CalFresh BenefitsCal login suddenly not working - same credentials rejected?
Is anyone else having trouble logging into BenefitsCal to check their CalFresh account? I've been using the exact same username and password for over a year, and suddenly today the system says my login info is incorrect! I triple-checked everything - typed it super carefully, even reset my password, and I STILL can't get in. I need to check if my semi-annual report (SAR7) was processed since my benefits are due to be loaded next week. Called the county office but got stuck in the automated system for 45 minutes before giving up. This is so frustrating! Has the system changed recently or is this just happening to me?

•At least I'm not the only one! Have you tried calling? I'm worried about my benefits not getting loaded next week.

The BenefitsCal system is SO unreliable, I swear they do this on purpose just to make it harder for people to get help. I've had this happen 3 times in the past year. Once they claimed there was a "system update" and another time they said my account got flagged for "security reasons" even though I did NOTHING wrong. The whole system is designed to fail so people give up. That's how they save money - by making it impossible to access what you're entitled to!!!!

•Not everything is a conspiracy. Sometimes websites just have technical issues.

There was actually a scheduled maintenance for BenefitsCal this past weekend that might be causing the login issues. This happens quarterly and sometimes affects logins for 24-48 hours afterward. A few things you can try: 1. Clear your browser cache and cookies completely 2. Try a different browser (if you usually use Chrome, try Firefox) 3. Make sure you're going to the correct site (https://benefitscal.com) as there are some look-alike sites 4. Try the mobile app if you were using the website (or vice versa) If none of these work, it's likely a system-wide issue that they're working on. Your benefits should still process normally even if you can't access your account online - the backend systems are separate.

•Thank you! I didn't know about the maintenance schedule. I cleared my cache and tried Firefox instead of Chrome, but still no luck. Good to know the benefits processing should still happen in the background. Is there any way to check if my SAR7 was received besides logging in?

I had this exact problem last month! For me it turned out my account was temporarily locked because I'd tried logging in too many times with slight typos in my password. The frustrating part is that the error message doesn't tell you that's what happened! The fix was simple though - I called my county office and they unlocked it right away. If you're having trouble getting through on the phone, have you tried the Claimyr service? It helped me get through to an actual person instead of waiting endlessly. I found it at claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8. It basically holds your place in line so you don't have to stay on the phone yourself. Really saved me when I needed to get my account unlocked!

•I hadn't heard of Claimyr before. That sounds helpful since I wasted almost an hour today trying to get through. Did you have to provide a lot of personal information to use it?

•Just basic contact info so they can call you back when they reach a worker. It was worth it for me since I was getting nowhere with the regular phone line. My account was unlocked the same day and I could check on my benefits right away.

Make sure ur on the right website!!!! Theres a fake benefitcal.com (missing the s) that looks just like the real site that scammers made to steal logins. The real one is benefitscal.com with an S!!!

•Omg I didn't even think to check that. Just double-checked and I am on the correct site with the 's' - benefitscal.com. Good warning though, that's scary there are fake sites out there!

I work for a community assistance organization that helps people with CalFresh applications. Yes, there was scheduled maintenance over the weekend, but we're also seeing widespread login issues that weren't announced. From what we're hearing, it's affecting about 30% of users across several counties. The system should be back to normal within 72 hours according to what we've been told. In the meantime, if you're concerned about your SAR7 status or upcoming benefits, you can: 1. Call the EBT customer service line (not your county office) at 877-328-9677 to check your benefit status 2. Visit your local county office in person 3. Check your EBT card balance on the 10th (or your regular deposit date) to confirm benefits were loaded They should NOT discontinue your benefits due to inability to access the online system during their maintenance period.

•Thank you for this information! I'll try calling the EBT customer service line tomorrow. That's reassuring to hear they shouldn't discontinue benefits because of their system issues.

UPDATE: Finally got through to someone at my county office this morning. Apparently there's a massive login problem across the state after their weekend system update. They confirmed my SAR7 was received and processed already (phew!) and said benefits should load normally next week. For anyone else having this issue, she said the login problems should be fixed by Friday. Just wanted to update everyone who was helping me!

•I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned above. Worked really well actually! They called me back when they reached a person and I didn't have to wait on hold.

•Thanks for updating us! Good to hear your SAR7 was received and processed. This is why I always recommend submitting those reports at least 10 days before the deadline - gives you buffer time for exactly these kinds of system issues.

I'm having the exact same issue! Been trying to log in for the past two days with no luck. Really relieved to see it's not just me and that it's a known system problem. I was starting to panic thinking my account got suspended or something. Thanks to everyone who shared the helpful tips and especially @Miguel Silva for the update that the county confirmed it should be fixed by Friday. Going to try that EBT customer service number to check my balance in the meantime.

•Welcome to the club! I was freaking out too when this first happened - thought maybe I'd been hacked or something. It's definitely frustrating when you need to check important stuff like benefit status. That EBT customer service line (877-328-9677) that @Amina Toure mentioned earlier is really helpful for checking your balance without needing to log into the website. And yeah, sounds like we just need to wait it out until Friday when they hopefully get this mess sorted out!

Just wanted to chime in as another person experiencing this issue! I've been locked out since Sunday and was getting really worried about my recertification deadline coming up. Reading through all these comments has been super helpful - especially learning about the statewide system problems and that our benefits should still process normally even if we can't log in. I tried the EBT customer service line that @Amina Toure mentioned and was able to confirm my current balance, which gave me some peace of mind. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and solutions here. It's frustrating when these systems fail right when we need them most, but at least we're not dealing with it alone!

•So glad I found this thread! I've been dealing with the same login issues since Monday and was starting to think I was going crazy. It's such a relief to know it's a widespread problem and not something wrong with my account specifically. I also tried that EBT customer service number and it worked great for checking my balance - much easier than trying to get through to the county office. Really appreciate everyone sharing their tips and @Miguel Silva for keeping us updated on what the county office said. Fingers crossed this gets resolved by Friday like they promised!

Same thing happened to me starting Monday! I was getting so stressed thinking maybe my account got flagged or something went wrong with my case. This thread has been a lifesaver - knowing it's a statewide issue makes me feel way better. I actually tried that Claimyr service that @GalaxyGuardian mentioned and it worked perfectly! Got connected to my county worker in about 20 minutes instead of being stuck on hold forever. She confirmed my benefits are fine and should load normally despite the website issues. For anyone still struggling to get through by phone, I'd definitely recommend giving Claimyr a try. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - it really helps to know we're all in this together!

•Hey @QuantumQuasar, thanks for sharing your experience! I'm new to this community but have been dealing with the same login nightmare since Sunday. It's so reassuring to read everyone's stories and realize this isn't just me going crazy with my password! I was literally convinced I'd somehow forgotten my own login info. Really appreciate you mentioning the Claimyr service - I'd never heard of it before this thread but it sounds like a game changer for actually getting through to speak with someone. The regular phone system is just brutal with those endless hold times. Going to give both the EBT customer service line and potentially Claimyr a try tomorrow. Thanks to everyone here for being so helpful and supportive - this kind of community response is exactly what people need when dealing with these frustrating system failures!

I'm dealing with this exact same problem! Started having login issues on Sunday and have been pulling my hair out thinking I somehow forgot my own password. Really glad I found this thread - it's such a relief to know this is a widespread system issue and not something wrong with my account. I was getting really anxious about my upcoming benefit deposit date. Thanks to everyone who shared the helpful phone numbers and services, especially the EBT customer service line at 877-328-9677. Going to try calling them tomorrow to check my balance. It's frustrating when these systems fail right when we need them most, but at least we have this community to help each other out!

•Welcome to the community @Dmitry Petrov! I'm new here too but this thread has been incredibly helpful for all of us dealing with this login nightmare. It's amazing how many people are experiencing the exact same issue - really shows how widespread this system problem is. I was also convinced I'd somehow messed up my own password until I found this discussion! That EBT customer service number has been a lifesaver for several people here, and from what @Miguel Silva shared, it sounds like the county offices are confirming this should all be resolved by Friday. Hang in there - we re'all in this together and your benefits should process normally even with the website being down!

This is such a helpful thread! I'm also having the exact same login issues since Sunday - kept thinking I was losing my mind with my own password! It's incredibly reassuring to know this is a statewide problem affecting so many people. I was getting really worried about my upcoming recertification appointment and whether my case worker could access my information. Thank you @Miguel Silva for the update from your county office and @Amina Toure for all the professional insights about the 72-hour timeline and alternative ways to check our status. I'm definitely going to try that EBT customer service line tomorrow. It's so frustrating when these systems fail, but this community support makes all the difference in not feeling alone and panicked about it!

•@Omar Mahmoud welcome to the community! I m'also pretty new here but this thread has been such a blessing. I was having the exact same panic - started Sunday for me too and I was convinced I d'somehow messed up my account or forgotten my password. It s'wild how many of us are dealing with this identical issue! Really shows it s'definitely a system-wide problem and not anything we did wrong. The community here has been amazing with sharing resources like that EBT customer service number and the Claimyr service. From everything people have shared, it sounds like our benefits and recertifications should all process normally despite the website being down. Your case worker should still be able to access everything they need on their end. Fingers crossed this gets resolved by Friday like @Miguel Silva was told!

I'm so relieved to find this thread! I've been having the exact same login issues since Monday morning and was starting to think my account got compromised or something. I kept trying different browsers and even had my tech-savvy neighbor help me troubleshoot, but nothing worked. It's such a relief to know this is affecting people statewide and not just me going crazy with my password! I was getting really stressed because I have my recertification interview next week and wanted to review my case details beforehand. Thank you everyone for sharing the helpful phone numbers and resources - I'm going to try calling that EBT customer service line tomorrow to at least check my current balance. It's frustrating that these system outages always seem to happen when we need access the most, but this community has been amazing at supporting each other through it!

•Hi @Ava Garcia! Welcome to the community - I'm new here too but this thread has been such a lifesaver! I was having the exact same panic when my login stopped working Sunday night. I also had my husband try to help me figure out if I was doing something wrong, but turns out it's this massive statewide system issue. It's actually kind of funny now how many of us were convinced we'd somehow forgotten our own passwords! For your recertification interview next week, from what @Amina Toure shared earlier she (works with a community assistance organization ,)the workers can still access everything they need on their end even when the client portal is down. So you should be all set for your appointment even if the website isn t'working yet. Definitely try that EBT customer service number 877-328-9677 (-) several people here have had good luck checking their balances that way. Hang in there, sounds like this should all be resolved by Friday!

I'm experiencing the exact same issue! Started having login problems on Tuesday and have been so frustrated trying to figure out what was wrong. I kept double-checking my password and even tried resetting it multiple times thinking maybe I'd somehow changed it and forgotten. This thread has been incredibly helpful - it's such a relief to know this is a widespread system problem and not something I did wrong! I was getting really worried because my benefits are supposed to load next week and I wanted to make sure everything was on track. Thank you @Miguel Silva for the update from your county office confirming this should be fixed by Friday, and thanks to everyone else who shared those helpful phone numbers. I'm definitely going to try calling the EBT customer service line at 877-328-9677 tomorrow to check my balance. It's so reassuring to have this community support when these systems fail us!

•Hey @Dylan Cooper! Welcome to the community - I'm also pretty new here but this thread has been such a huge help! I started having the exact same login issues on Tuesday too and was going through the same cycle of checking and rechecking my password thinking I'd lost my mind. It's honestly a relief to see how many of us are dealing with this identical problem - really confirms it's a major system-wide issue and nothing we did wrong. I was also stressing about my upcoming benefit deposit! From what everyone has shared here, it sounds like the backend systems that actually process our benefits are separate from the login portal, so our benefits should still load normally even if we can't access the website. That EBT customer service number has been a lifesaver for people checking their balances while the website is down. Fingers crossed this gets resolved by Friday like @Miguel Silva was told by his county office! This community has been amazing at helping each other through these frustrating system failures.

•Hi @Paolo Romano! I'm also new to this community but have been following this thread closely since I'm dealing with the exact same login nightmare that started for me on Monday. It's been such a relief to find so many people experiencing this identical issue - I was also convinced I'd somehow forgotten my own password! That EBT customer service line has been mentioned by several people here and sounds like a great workaround while we wait for the website to get fixed. I'm definitely going to try calling them tomorrow. It's really reassuring to know from @Miguel Silva s'county office update that this should all be resolved by Friday. This community has been amazing at supporting each other through these frustrating system failures - makes you realize how many of us depend on these services and how important it is to have reliable access.
