If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Did your EBT card expire? Mine expired in February and I didn't realize it until my benefits didn't load. They automatically mail a new one but I never received it. Had to request another one and it was such a hassle. Just another thing to check!

Just checked and my card is good until 2027, so that's not it. But thanks for the suggestion!

Just as an update for everyone following this thread - I called my county office this morning and confirmed what @profile2 mentioned. There is indeed a system update causing delays for supplemental payments this month. The representative said all delayed supplements should post by April 24th at the latest. If you don't receive yours by then, definitely call your caseworker.

thx for updating us!!

This is such helpful information! I was getting really stressed about my budget too. It's frustrating that they don't send out notices about these delays, especially when people are counting on that money for groceries. At least now I know to wait until the 24th before calling. Thanks @Anna Xian for taking the time to call and update everyone!

Just as a follow-up on activation - when the card arrives, you'll need to call the number on the back and have your child's date of birth ready. You'll create a 4-digit PIN. The system will tell you the current balance, which should match what your child's school notified you about. If the amount seems incorrect, you can call the P-EBT helpline, but for first-time activation, the EBT card number on the back is all you need. Also, be aware that P-EBT benefits are different from regular CalFresh. They can only be used for food items, not hot prepared foods (with some exceptions at approved restaurants in certain counties). The benefits also expire after a year, so make note of when they were issued.

I'm going through the same thing right now! My Informed Delivery showed my daughter's P-EBT card coming yesterday but still nothing in the mailbox. Reading all these responses is really reassuring - sounds like this is super common and I just need to be patient for a few more days. I had no idea that Informed Delivery just shows when mail gets scanned at the facility, not when it actually gets delivered to your house. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, this really helps calm my nerves about it being lost!

That's awesome that you got it resolved so quickly! Thanks for updating us - I was wondering how this would turn out. It's good to know the P-EBT office is aware of the system glitch and that they're actually thanking people for reporting it instead of making them feel bad about it. I'm definitely going to look into that Claimyr service too since I always seem to have issues getting through to government offices. Glad you did the right thing and got it sorted out properly!

So glad to hear you got this resolved! I'm actually dealing with a similar issue right now - got two P-EBT cards for my daughter last week and wasn't sure what to do. Your post convinced me to do the right thing and report it. I'm definitely going to try that Claimyr service since I hate sitting on hold. Thanks for sharing your experience and the update - it really helps to know how these situations actually turn out!

I'm so glad you got this resolved and shared the update! This is really helpful info for others who might face the same situation. It's reassuring to know that the P-EBT office is aware of the system glitch and that they actually appreciate people reporting these duplicates instead of treating it like you did something wrong. The fact that they gave you a confirmation number shows they're taking it seriously too. Thanks for doing the right thing and letting us know how it turned out - posts like this really help the community!

Has anyone else had trouble with their EBT card not working at certain stores? I've had my card for about 2 years now and sometimes the chip doesn't read right. I've found I have to swipe it at some places but others require the chip. Just something to be aware of if you're new to using the card.

This is a good point. If the chip doesn't work after a couple tries, ask the cashier if you can swipe instead. Some stores are better at handling EBT transactions than others. Also, remember you can check your balance by calling the number on the back of the card or using the BenefitsCal app.

i was confused about this too when i first got calfresh!! but yeh u keep the same card and they just put the $$ on it each month. u can also check ur balance by calling the number on the back or use the app. the app is actually pretty good.

its called BenefitsCal. u can check ur balance, see when ur next deposit is coming, and even upload documents for ur case. way easier than calling!

Perfect, thank you! I'll download the BenefitsCal app right now. This whole thread has been incredibly helpful - I feel so much more confident about using my benefits now. Really appreciate everyone taking the time to explain everything!

UPDATE: Finally got through to my county worker! Turns out they received my verification docs but needed one more recent pay stub because my hours increased. They never sent me a notice about it (or it got lost in the mail). The worker was able to process everything while I was on the phone and said my benefits should load within 2-3 business days. So relieved! Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

Great news! For future reference, always check your BenefitsCal account regularly - they're moving away from paper notices and putting most communications there now. Also, remember that if your income changes by more than $100/month, you need to report it within 10 days, not just at recertification. Glad you got it sorted out!

@Malik Robinson So glad you got it resolved! This is exactly why I always tell people to check BenefitsCal regularly - the system has gotten way more digital but they don't really advertise that change. I've been on CalFresh for 2 years and learned the hard way that you can't rely on mail notices anymore. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder to check your account weekly, especially around recertification time. The income reporting requirement that @Freya Andersen mentioned is super important too - I got my case temporarily suspended once for not reporting a small raise quickly enough. Hope your benefits load soon and you can get groceries for your kids!

This is such helpful advice! I'm new to CalFresh and had no idea about the digital switch - I was wondering why I wasn't getting paper notices like my mom used to get years ago. Setting a weekly reminder is a great idea. Question though - when you report income changes on BenefitsCal, do they usually adjust your benefits right away or does it take time to process? I just started a part-time job and want to make sure I report it correctly.
