Are UCC forms down again - can't access filing portal
Is anyone else having trouble accessing the UCC filing portal today? I've been trying to submit a continuation statement for the past 3 hours and keep getting error messages. The system keeps timing out when I try to upload my UCC-3 form. My client's continuation deadline is next week and I'm starting to panic. Has anyone successfully filed today or are the UCC forms completely out? This is the third time this month the portal has been unreliable.

Same here! Been trying since 8am to file a UCC-1 and the portal keeps crashing. Called the SOS office and they said they're aware of 'technical difficulties' but no timeline for when it'll be fixed. This is ridiculous for such an important system.

•At least you got through to someone. I've been on hold for 45 minutes trying to get an update on my rejected filing from yesterday.

•The portal usually comes back up by afternoon, but yeah the timing is terrible when you have deadlines approaching.

I had this exact problem last month with a continuation deadline. What saved me was using Certana.ai's document verification tool before resubmitting. I uploaded my UCC-3 and original UCC-1 and it caught a debtor name inconsistency that would have caused another rejection. Once I fixed that, the filing went through immediately when the portal came back online.

•Wait, how does that tool work exactly? Does it check against the actual filed documents or just compare what you upload?

•You just upload your PDFs and it instantly cross-checks everything - debtor names, filing numbers, document consistency. Super helpful when you're rushing to meet deadlines and might miss something.

•That actually sounds useful. I've had too many filings rejected for stupid name mismatches that I didn't catch.

AGAIN?? This is absolutely unacceptable. We're talking about SECURED TRANSACTIONS here, not some optional paperwork. When lenders are depending on these filings to protect their collateral interests, the system needs to be bulletproof. I've lost count of how many times this portal has failed when I needed it most.

•I feel your frustration but unfortunately this seems to be the new normal. Maybe they need more funding for IT infrastructure.

•More funding? They collect fees on every single filing! Where's that money going if not to maintain a functioning system?

For what it's worth, I've noticed the outages usually happen mid-morning when filing volume is highest. If you can wait until after 2pm, success rate is much better. Not ideal when you're under deadline pressure, but might be worth trying later today.

•Good point. I might try again this afternoon. Just hate cutting it so close to the deadline.

•Same pattern here - mornings are terrible but afternoons usually work fine.

Just got through! Portal seems to be working again as of 1:30pm. My UCC-1 amendment went through without any issues. Might want to try again now.

Has anyone figured out if there's a way to get notified when the portal is back up instead of just refreshing constantly? This waiting game is killing my productivity.

•I wish they had a status page or something. Right now it's just trial and error.

•Some states have Twitter accounts that post updates, but ours doesn't seem to use social media for system status.

Update: Successfully filed my continuation at 2:15pm. Portal is definitely working again. For future reference, I'm going to start using that Certana tool someone mentioned to double-check my documents before the portal goes down again.

•Smart move. Nothing worse than waiting for the portal to come back up only to get rejected for a preventable error.

•Same here - just got my continuation through! Thanks everyone for the updates and tips.

This whole situation reminds me why I always try to file continuations at least a month before the deadline. Gives you buffer time for exactly these kinds of technical issues.

•That's good practice, but sometimes clients don't give you that luxury of advance notice.

•Agreed on early filing when possible. The 6-month window before expiration is there for a reason.

Question - if the portal was down during business hours, would that affect the filing date if you submitted after hours once it came back up? Or does it go by when you actually complete the submission?

Zane Hernandez
•Filing date is based on when the system actually accepts and processes your submission, not when you attempted to file.

•That's why these outages are so stressful when you're up against a deadline. No credit for trying earlier if the system was down.

For what it's worth, I tried that Certana verification tool after reading about it here and it actually caught an issue with my collateral description that I never would have noticed. Saved me from a potential rejection when the portal came back online.

•That's exactly the kind of peace of mind I need when dealing with these system outages. Going to check it out.

•It's become part of my standard workflow now. Upload the docs, verify everything matches, then file with confidence.
